HEY!

Good morning everyone. It is Monday once again. I hope that you all had a great weekend. I didn't have to work, and it went really fast but we were able to get a lot done and still have fun in the pool. Can you tell that having two days off in a row does so much more for my happiness? It just makes all the difference. We had loads of sunshine and little wind for both days. It was great. Today is looking pretty good too. lol....
Well, because it was such a beautiful weekend I didn't get too many cards made. The one I did make for today is actually using a new stamp that was given to my from TGF. She is non other than the sweet Country Anya. I think she just screams sunshine. I also tried a different way of coloring her hair. I am still trying to decide whether or not I like it. lol....never satisfied. After I was through coloring her I decided that she would be adorable to use for the Sketchy Saturday over at CA&F... I have to confess that I really enjoyed using this sketch. It gave me an opportunity to use a lot of the different papers from one of my mini decks from Cosmo Cricket. Don't you just love being able to do that?
Alright then my fellow card making, crafty friends I better get a move on. Time to go to work. Have a super Sunny Monday! Hugs, Lisa G

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL MORNING...

What can I say this is the day that I have been working to get to for over two weeks. Yay! All I have to do is get through today at work and then I have two full days off....Yay for me! I do have to apologize for always talking about working or days off, but for me I work to support my family and then I come home and trying to do all that I miss during the day with my family in the evenings. Sooooo after working for 12 days out of 14 I tend to get worn out. lol
With that out of the way I decided to put together a simple card that (wait for it) does not have one drop on Copic ink used on it at all. I know you are completely shocked!
I have a ton of the really cut frames that My Mind's Eye, Inc. put out several years ago and sold on QVC. I wanted to challenge myself to use just one of those frames and card stock to put together a card. The only extra embellishment that I used was a small silk flower. I am thinking that I should have used a different color of card stock, but it was already cut and even had the punched edge ready to go. So without further ado... here is my simple Congratulations card. I figure it could be something to have on hand for any last minute card that I might need to sent to someone.
Well, I am off to get this day started. Have an awesome Friday y'all and I will talk at you later. Hugs, Lisa G

GOOD LUCK...

Hi guys. How is everyone this fine morning? I have to tell you we didn't get too much sun yesterday, but boy oh boy was it plenty warm. heehee Don't you just love how we complain about the cold and then turn around and complain about the heat? What are you going to do?
Well as I do work today I am going to make this a quick one. Today's card is one that I was playing around with using up scraps. The teal was a piece I had cut a circle out of but decided against the circle or the rest of the CS for that project. Well I think it worked out perfect for this one. I also used up some of my leftover daisyd's rub-on transfers. All in all I am so happy with how well Gossamer Cornwand looks on her card. I think she is so cute and she would be able to give anybody loads of good luck.
Grrrrr, I have to say that I am super disappointed that my pictures don't show the card in it's real colors. The whole card is done in monochromatic colors of teal... Boohoo, Wow I think I might have to get me one of those photo studios...bboooowwhaaaahaa
So I had better get a move on. I have work and then if the weather is good it will be swimming. Don't you just love summer? Loads of exercise in the form that I really enjoy. Have a great day loaded with sunshine... Hugs, Lisa G

SWEET & SASSY...

Yes, it is Wednesday! No, I do not have a half day today. :o( That's ok however as it looks like it is going to be a sweet and sunny day. That means that when I do get home from work it is swimming time... Yay! Can you tell I am as much a fish as my kids are? What can I say if there is a pool you just have to swim. heehee
Wow, I don't if it is because my week in half over or if it is my card that is putting me in this mood. I told you that I had pulled out some of my rub-ons this weekend and as you can see I had a great time with them. First though I have to say that this is the first time that I colored CC Thursday. Can you believe that I have had her since she first went on sale and this is the first card that I have made with her? Sure, Madison has colored her about six times but not me. I just kind of left her to just sit. Well not today! She is just so happy to be on this card. Showing just how sassy she is. I just thought of perfect little girl that she is going to be sent to. I can't mention her name as her Mommy checks on my blog everyday. Ok guys work calls so I better get motoring. Hugs, Lisa G

GET WELL SOON...

Hi guys. I hope that you all had a great start to your week. We are still hoping that the sun will decide to come out and play, but until then we'll just be glad that we don't have anything more severe than a light rain. heehee... I am hoping to get some spare time this week to play with my kids once that sun gets over being shy.
Anyway I will get to it this morning as I need to head in early. I have to confess that I just really had a great time coloring this weekend and not really making any cards for anyone specific. That sure makes it fun sometimes. lol.. As you will see I even dug out some of my rub-ons and used them my cards. Once I finished this card I realized it would be perfect to send to my friend who just went through her second back surgery in less than three months. Yuck! I just can not imagine. I have to say that I really love how she turned out and I hope you enjoy it also. Have a wonderful Tuesday and I'll talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

WHAT A PEAR...

Good morning all. I hope that you had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. We didn't do much, but we did have a great time playing cards with the kids and watching a movie or two. Saturday actually gave us a whee bit of sunshine in the afternoon, so after grocery shopping we did manage to get some swimming in. Big smile of both Mitchell and Maddie's faces.
I decided to work on coloring my stamps while we watched movies yesterday and I have to admit that it was a lot of fun not to sit with my back to everyone while I got some work done and just listened. I ended up putting my Copics in a basket as neat as I could, but I really didn't like that other than the fact that it was portable. Anybody have a suggestion for how you take your Copics with you when you aren't at your desk? heehee The problems that I have you know.
Ok, it's time to get on with the show... My card today is made with a free digi stamp that I got off the Internet and I am sorry to say that I no longer know from where. I really like the stamp, and I haven't been using it as I really wanted to be able to give credit to the nice people that gave it away. I also have to say that because the wonderfully talented Angel gave my daughter an awesome card when she was so sick that had the embossing folder distressed stripes from Provo Craft on it, I just had to get it. I did and I love it. So I put the two together and I love it. Anyway it is a different card for me. Kind of simple, but I am really happy with how it turned out. So guys, have an Awesome start to your week and I will talk at you later. Hugs, Lisa G

TGIF... I MADE IT!

Hi guys. Yes, it is finally Friday! I do have to work tomorrow, but I can get through it. heehee What can I say? This week has not been one of the best. Oh well, I just have to make it through today and part of tomorrow then hopefully the sun will shine and we will be swimming! Yay! I can hardly wait. Think SUNSHINE! heehee
Anyway I was sitting down to make a card for this morning when HG-Laundry just looked like I felt last night. It's like you could just hear the sigh of relief that her work load was just about coming to an end. I could so relate! With that I had better get a move on... I want to get today started so that I can get to that Saturday afternoon. Have a great day everyone. I hope that the sun is shining for you. Hugs, Lisa G

STRUT YOUR STUFF...

Hi Guys. As you can see by the time I am running really behind this morning. It may be the kids' first day of summer vacation, but not mine. I will have to make this one super short but sweet. heehee. This is an image that a friend sent me, so I finally got the time to color her up last night. Isn't she just the cutest? I really think I am going to have to buy her. I have another friend that is out hunting for a new job and going on numerous interviews, so I thought this would be perfect for her.
Well, I am out of here for today. Have a great Thursday and I will talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

JOY FOLD CARD FOR A WEDNESDAY...

Hi guys, I hope you are all making it through the week. Yes, it is finally Wednesday. I have to admit that I am in a very, very bad mood today. I hate being in this kind of mood it only makes me even more upset. So I am sorry., but this is sure to be one of my quickest posts ever. It is Mitchell and Madison's last day of school. They are both off at 10am and planning on coming home to swim their day away. I of course have to work, but I will be joining them just as soon as my work day ends. I hope that the weather holds out. It turned out to be pretty nice yesterday, but the wind sure was doing it's thing. (as it usually does here in the desert.)
Ok, as my bad mood started last night my card today was made with a stamp that I had already colored and then decided not to use. I used Cheeky Beauty. Don't you just love coloring their eyes? I think that is my favorite thing to do with them. I know I am weird. What can I say? lol. Anyway I really didn't know what I wanted to do, so I decided on a Joy fold card. I am fairly pleased with how she turned out. I have decided that I will give it to my cousin in Arizona. She love anything to do with the Red Hat Society, and it seems those are the colors that I have used. I to say making this card did help to get my mind off of what ticked me off in the first place. I am sorry to say that I don't have a list of the Copics that I used. Have a great day my friends. Hugs, Lisa G

SATURDAY SKETCHS ON TUESDAY...

Good morning guys. I hope you all survived another Monday. heehee... Oh Mondays.... To quote Forrest Gump "And that's all I have to say about that." heehee. No really though I had a good Monday, but I am relieved that is has come and gone once again.
I am sort of in a hurry this morning as today is the kids' last full day of school and we still have a lot to get done before they can start their summer. We have told them however that if their bedrooms are not picked up by Wednesday they will not be swimming. I know it sounds mean, but because they are both almost teenagers they don't want to listen to us lately. Sooooo, I have found that the pool is a good motivator at the moment. Mean I tell you. baaahhhaaaahaa! Hey, I go with what works.
Ok, ok I said a quick one. So today's card I made for the Saturday sketch challenge over at CA&F blog. Be sure to check it out. They have some really cute cards over there. Now when I was thinking of what I wanted to use little Miss Cheeky Mate really wanted to be a part of this card. I didn't see any problem with that. She is after all just adorable. I do have to admit that after we had done all of her make-up (including red lipstick) Cheeky wanted me to touch up her face a little bit and we ended up smearing her lipstick onto her cheek.. :o( I was so upset that I almost didn't use her. Well we decided that not everyone is perfect, so with really Rosy cheeks we present her and her wonderful card to you. For some reason when I started to put my card together a vintage feel just kind of came over me, so I just went with it. I hope you like her and our card... Have a super day everyone. Talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

MONDAY MANIA with ME...

Hi guys. I hope that you all had a terrific weekend. We sure did, and can I just say the weather was fabulous! I know I have not been on much this past week, but summer is starting soon in our house so we have been getting ready for it. A pool to get setup and last minute obligations for school to get done.
Ok, lets get this party started. You read right, I am hosting this week's Monday Mania over at Club Anya & Friends. I have to send Amy Young a great big Thank You for asking me to be a part of it all. I found and fell in love with the Greeting Farm and all their stamps last year. Talk about the cutest stamps and the sweetest group of people. So thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful world of creative people. Now when I finally got into what I would do for a challenge I thought and thought. Then it came to me " What about using an odd number of shapes to make a card? " I felt this would be an interesting challenge and a lot of fun to see what everyone comes up with. You can use your card as one of the shapes and you can even use embellishments to count towards them. I'll even count a flower as a circle. Soooo- All you have to do is make a card using one rectangle , three squares and five circles... They don't have to all be the same size or color, they just have be the right shape and the right numbers
Well, I sure hope you all have a lot of fun with this. I am so excited to see what everyone comes up with. Talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

GOT TEACHERS...

Hi guys. Happy Friday to all of you. Sorry to be missing in action this week. I had not planned on it being such a busy week. The kids only have three more days of school left and boy has it been busy in our house this week. I am happy that Madison is still young enough to want to give some of her teachers Thank you cards for all of their hard work over this last school year. Needless to say I have been very busy making Teacher Anya cards (Madison's specific request) for several of them. Of course this means that Mitchell wants a few made for his teachers as well. lol....
Oh well, at least Mitchell does not have his special requests. To him one stamp is just as good as another. I will get to play a little. Don't get me wrong I love my Teacher Anya, but after making four in a row you kind of want to get onto someone else. So, I am heading out to work today and I just didn't want to let another day go by without a post and some pictures. I have decided to show a couple of the cards that we came up with for Maddie's teachers so far.
Have a wonderful day and I will talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

Have a great day all. Hugs, Lisa G

HAPPY TUESDAY...

Hi guys. I hope that you all had a good start to your week. I have to confess that as of yesterday morning I had not completed one card. Oh sure I had the best intentions to work on my cards all weekend, but what can I say. Mitchell was starting to get a cold so we couldn't let them go over to Grandma and Grandpa's (my Dad had open heart surgery in March of 2000) so we don't want to have him exposed to anything that might turn into something twice as bad for him. Anyway, both kids were not happy with this decision so we headed over to Hastings to get Avatar...No, we had not seen it yet. OMWord...I just love Hastings when they put movies on sale. They had PV movies (Avatar, Blind Side and Alvin and the Chipmunks the squeakqual) at $12.99 buy 2 get one for .01c. Well we just could not pass it up. So we headed over to the movie theater and bought some popcorn for the kids and then we had movie night for the four of us. Needless to say the kids were both surprised and very happy with our choices of movies. Although I am sure the movie theater popcorn did not hurt their feelings at all. heehee I have to say that I enjoyed all of those movies so much that I just did not feel the least bit guilty for not getting any cards made. That is until yesterday morning when I had nothing to share with you... :O( I do have to add that we didn't just sit in our house for two days watching movies. We also manage to get our pool cleaned and ready to go. That is between the sun and rain. Lately it has been sunny one day and then the next it is cold and rainy. Is it any wonder that we all have colds now?
Ok guys, it you are still hanging in there let me get to my card that I did make. I have a friend that is having her Anniversary coming up so I decided that I would make her and her husband a card. I seem to be in the mood for anniversary cards at the moment. So I grabbed Miss Anya and My Guy Ian. They just looked so sweet together with her basket of tulips that he gave her and Anya holding onto his arm? Just sweet. I am still playing around with my Shapeabilities pendants. It is a little hard to get the card stock out, but I am getting it down. That is after about three tries, but you know what they say "If at first you don't succeed try, try and try again." lol....That is what I did, and I am happy with it.
Well, I had better skedaddle. Sick kids to get to school. I don't know who is happier, me or the kids that school is almost out. heehee I love having them home. I get to come home from work and swim with them. It is just so much more relaxed in the summer. Besides, then I don't have to help with homework after a long day at work. lol..
