HELLO IAN...

Hi guys. Wow, today is my Friday and I am so so so happy. It has been a super long three weeks and I am ready to have some time off. It is both Mitchell and Madison's Birthdays this weekend and we are planing on having some fun here at the house. I don't know who is more excited me or the kids (ok, it's Mitchell). lol I have been very good though, I have not purchased any of their gifts yet. We all know that I would so give them everything long before Saturday. I just can not wait. I have been like this forever. heehee The kids love that though. Everyday this week Mitchell has come up to me and says " I love you Mom. Then he'll tell me how many days until his Birthday. (Like I could forget.) He then gives me this don't you want to give me something look... lol... I love my kids. They know what I am all about. heehee
Ok, so moving on. While I have been playing around this week with different types of cards I still love to make simple ones as well. I decided that poor Ian gets neglected a lot of the time and he really should be used more. He is just so adorable. So, I pulled out Hello Ian and colored him up. I wanted to make a very simple card with just some card stock and little else. I was very pleased with how this one turned out. I think it could be used for just about any occasion.
Oh, by the way yesterday was so much better than Tuesday at work. Thanks for all of you wonderful words regarding Madison. It really means a lot to me. Hugs to all of you.
Have a great day. Lisa G

Z-FOLD CARD...

Hi guys.
Yes! It is the middle of the week and I am hoping that today goes a lot better than yesterday... OMWord... Yesterday we had two girls out and we had one of the busiest days we have had in quite sometime. I was so happy to come home and just sit for a few minutes. I do have to admit that with it being uber busy the day just flew by. Hopefully the girls are feeling better and today will go a lot smoother. :D
If you have been visiting my blog lately you may have noticed that I have been having fun trying out new card shapes and whatnot. I have been into using my Scor-pal for more that just to fold my cards. heehee... So, today's card is one of my new cards. It is called a Z-fold card, and I do like how it came out. I did however get carried away with one element of the card that I was determined to use. That would be the picture of the flowers that I just had to use. (They are from when I bought my printer and you print a sample picture.) I just loved the picture and the flowers. It really turned out different than I envisioned it, and I am not too sure of it. I also tried to use brighter Copic colors on my stamp so that it would work better with the picture. See what you think.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. Hugs, Lisa G

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE...

Hi guys. Did you make it through your Monday? We did, but boy oh boy is it hot. I want to start off by saying Thank you for all of your encouraging words about Maddie. I try not to talk too much about it, because everyone has something going on in their lives and I would never want to take away from anyone that might have bigger problems than ours. I just have so many possibilities going on in my head as to what might be going on with her and I have to confess they are not good things. I realize that this all could be something simple or nothing more than growing pain. So I am trying desperately to be positive and calm and wait to see what it is before I go off the deep end. lol... So, again thank you all for your sweet words and prayers.
Moving on to my card for today. I actually had my nephew Marshall in mind when I was playing around with this one. He just turned 19 and is very much into Manga and going to Manga conventions... Well, I colored this sweetie up and had a ton of fun playing with her hair...(See Miss Angela's blog for the hair tutorial..) I love, love how her hair came out. I even sent a picture of her to Marshall to see what he thought. He said it was nice. He really liked her hair too. I am trying to catch Marshall when he has some free time. He had a blast trying out my Copics when he came over for my Birthday. I am trying to get him hooked. From what little time he played with them, he seemed to be a natural. We'll see. :D
I have to admit that I really am enjoying the hair and eye coloring. That has always been one of my favorite things to draw and now I can play with colors also. Marshall just moved into his first apartment (much to his Mommy's dismay. He is her listener.) So, I think that I need to send this to him. I am pretty sure that he will enjoy getting it in the mail. Now all I have to do is get Marshall's address.
Ok, guys it is getting to be that time...So I will talk at you tomorrow. Until then, have an AWESOME day. Hugs, Lisa G

HAPPY MONDAY...

Hi guys.
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. We had super, super hot weather all weekend. In fact it is suppose to be up in the 90s again today. Last night at 9:30pm it was still 84 degrees out. I have to confess that I had a wonderful two days off. It was great even with the fact that Jerry ended up falling off our ladder and scratching up both his legs and body. He had decided to cut some branches off of our pine tree that I have wanted done. Needless to say he is moving around very slowly. (I have pictures of him, but he wouldn't let me share them. lol) After that little incident we played in the pool and had family over to play with us. It was loads of fun until Madison had an attack again. She is now scheduled to see a heart specialist next Monday. I am not going to sit by and just believe what is being told to us while my daughter can not even be outside swimming for longer that 30 minutes without getting totally wiped out. Sorry to get off track, but I am really concerned with what is going on with her. She will have pains in her sides and her legs will go out on her. Mind you she is only going to be 12 this coming Saturday. If you would keep her in your prayers I would be so grateful. We have not been told anything is wrong with her, but as her Mom I have my gut concerns that I am keeping to myself for now. My problem is that she is also concerned. She keeps asking me why she is starting to feel like she did in April. I am hoping to get some answers come next Monday.
Ok, well I was playing around with new techniques this weekend. So I decided to try out the wonderfully talented Angela's tutorial on how she colors hair. I really had a great time trying out her style. Thanks Angela. You are just so gifted. I wanted to use a stamp that had lots of hair so I decided on Pretty Head Lilly. She is so pretty and I have always loved her hair. My card isn't for anything specific today, just for practice. Well, I better hit the road. Off to work I go. Have a super good Monday and I will talk at you tomorrow. Thanks for letting me prattle this morning. I just seem to have so much on my mind, and I don't want to really put audible voice to anything. :D

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE AIRMAIL?

Good morning guys! Yes, it is Friday!!! I only have to get through today and then I am off for two whole days... Can you believe it? Both Saturday and Sunday! I have to admit that I think I am going into shock... heehee Sorry, I just have worked three straight weeks and I am finally getting my two days off. I know that I said I was taking weekends off from my blog during the summer and then turned right around and started to get my mojo back on the weekends. Well...., this weekend I will NOT be posting anything on my blog as I intend to spend each day with my family enjoying the summer. :D I can not believe that it is almost the end of July. I enjoy having my kids out of school and at home. ( I know, I am weird...)
I hate that it is only a little over one month and they will be back at school. This year they are both 7th graders. :O(
Ok, let me get to another reason why I am so happy this morning. Yesterday when I got home from work Jerry had put an Airmail package on my desk. Yes! It was my first ever Lil Lolita stamp. I won 80's Sookie off of their blog hop a few weeks ago and I just got her. I cooked dinner (as quick as I could) and sat right down to mount her on cling foam and get busy with her. I hope you like it. I was in the mood for wild colors and something just slightly out of my comfort zone. (She just screams fun!) You would not believe how long it took me to take my pictures due to the florescent green ribbon that I used. It was already dark outside and I just could not get the ribbon to not glow with or without the flash.. I finally got it though. Big Smile again! I have to admit that I rushed this card because I was so excited to play, so after it was all done I came up with a different way that I want to use her on a card. Well, I'll just have to make another card next week. lol... Have a great weekend everyone and I will talk at you Monday.

ROCK ON...

Hi guys.
I have a quick card for you today. I have to apologize ahead of time, as I colored this sweetie over the weekend and of course can not find my Copic list. :o( I am sure that tonight when I sit down at my desk I will find it then. You know how that goes? lol..
Let me also just share that it took me over an hour to load this post as at first I had not taken my pictures nor had I edited them. So, when I went to do all that and load them into my computer that turned into a major effort! Gggrrrr! I ended up restarting my computer and then it finally worked. Ever have one of those days before 7am and it not be a Monday? Well, so far that is my day.... :o#
Well, lets get back to when I colored my Kei Winking - digi stamp from Specsh stamps. I really like her, and when I was half way through coloring her I messed up and was going to toss her. However I just could not do that so I started to use color combinations of Copic markers that I don't use a lot of. I just had fun and didn't worry about it too much. I also decided because I was just having fun with her that I would use up a couple of things that were just sitting on my desk.
So her she is... I hope you like. Nothing special, but tons of fun to play with.
Have a great day, I got to run!

PAPER BOW....

Hi guys.
I hope you are all having a great week so far. Can you believe that this week is already halfway through? I really don't know where the time is going. WOW!
So, today's post is going to be a super short on. I don't have a card for today. I thought with the kids' Birthdays coming up next week that I would try my hand at making paper bows. I don't usually worry about bows for the birthday presents, but I ran across this wonderful tutorial on how to make them, so I have been very busy having fun making them. I didn't realize however until I was typing this up that I did not edit the rest of my pictures, so I only have the one bow to share with you..
I found this video tutorial on youtube, and she was taught this technique by Deb Valder from Ballston Spa, NY. I hope I was able to give credit where credit is due. lol..
All you need is 8 strips of 1x6
4 strips of 1x5
1 strip of 1x4
I hope you like it and give it a try. It was super fun was real easy to make too. Have a great days. Hugs, Lisa G

HEY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN...

Hi guys.
Sorry I missed you all yesterday. Had some family stuff come up and had to take care of it. I hope that you all had a great start to your week though.
First let me start this post off with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN... My oldest nephew is 22 today. When he was born he weighed over 9lbs and had red hair like my sister his mom. He still has the red hair, but he is as tall as he is skinny! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE FROG MAN...
Well, I am going to get to it this morning. I am as usual (lately anyway) running behind on my morning routine. lol... :O( I am an obsessive person when it comes to being early for things. I do not like to wait for the last minute to go out the door...Not me! I have to leave for work at 8:30am just to drive the 3 miles to work at 9am...What can I say I got it from my Grandpa. My Mom always said that Grandpa would get them ready for church and have to leave an hour before they had to be there. The church was only 4 big blocks from their home. heehee - Thanks Grandpa. At least when left up to me we are never late. I am sure that you can guess that it drives Jerry insane when I stand by the door ready to go while he takes 5 minutes to put his shoes on. (Don't tell him I said so. lol) Yes, Mitchell is taking on the family tradition. That's my sweetheart!
Ok, I am rattling on now. I know I said I would get to it, so lets get started. I just had to play around with my CC Monday stamp once again. What can I say, I just love her hair and her eyes are so much fun for me to color. I just could not resist. I am upset however. Her hair has better highlights in it, but you just can not see them in my photo. Gggrrrr! ( I was trying something new) Well guys, as always my card is simple, but I like how it came out. I hope you have a great day. Hugs, Lisa G

PRACTICE - PRACTICE, PRACTICE....

Hi guys, happy Friday to you all. I want to start off by thanking all of you for visiting my blog and for all the sweet and encouraging comments. They all mean so much to me. So thanks, again. I am off to work soon, so I will get right to it. Over on the Color Me Copic blog the wonderfully talented Rachel did a tutorial on coloring with the gray tones to make a black and white picture. They are actually having their first Challenge with this. I am practicing with this card, and I have an idea as to what I want to make for the Challenge. Until then, practice-practice and more practice... Sure, it's all for fun...I just have an idea in my head and I would just love for it to work. We'll see. I hope you check out their blog if you don't know about it already. I think you will love it.
I am really pleased with how this card came out. It was differant to not use color, but still be able to put shades and depth into the picture. I think that because Mitchell is our little Prince (almost 13) that he is going to get this one.
Ok guys, I got to go. I hope you have a super great start to your weekend. I'll talk at you later. Hugs, Lisa G

MAKE A SPLASH !

Hi guys.
Well it had cooled down a little bit around here, but today it is suppose to get back up into the 90's again. Hmmmm, what to do after work? :D I am happy to say that my migraine has finally decided to go away. Wow, they just hit sometimes and they don't like to let go...
However, today is pain free. Yay! I am getting ready to hit the road to work. It is amazing to me the this month is almost half over..Can you believe it? Well, because time flies so fast I better get to it. lol.
I wanted to try a new card with very little dp on it and just very simple for summer. I picked up some WeR Memory Keepers textured card stock-(twirl) and decided to use just the colors from the pad. I also wanted to try making a boarder with my scor-pal. I have to admit that it is 'simple', but I like it. I also used one of the very first stamps that I ever purchased. I am sure you all know her as C.C.Design's Sunglasses Emma. This was back when I didn't know the difference between Anyas and Emmas. Anyway I thought that she was adorable then, and I still think she is adorable today.
I had better get a move on. I hope you all have a great day and I will talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

FINTASTIC FRIENDS...

Good morning all.
I am going to make this a quick one as I have a migraine this morning and I need to get myself ready for work.
Tday's card was made with 90% of my Fintastic friend's wonderful stamps and awesome blog candy that I won... Yes, I am of course talking about Amy Young. I am sorry to say that I actually colored Ocean Wavedancer and her friend Echo last week right after they arrived in the mail. ( I just could not wait!) Because I colored them almost a week ago I can not seem to find my list of Copics that I used and therefore didn't get to take a picture of them either.
Well, I am going to see about getting ready. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone. Thanks again Amy. I love these stamps and all the great blog candy that came with them. lol... :D

COOL...

Hi guys.
I hope your Monday was a good one. It was another hot day here , but the wind is doing it's thing again which helps to keep it from feeling too bad.
My Daughter wanted me to make her friend a book marker, so I used CC Wednesday (with a little alteration to her hair) and made her look more like her friend.
This is my coloring, and Madison's design on this one. We both hope that you like her.
Well, I woke up late this morning and I am running super behind, so I am off. Have a super Tuesday. Talk at you later. Lisa G

I LOVE YOU...

Good morning guys.
I hope that you all had a great weekend. We had some wonderful weather and enjoyed time swimming with the kids and taking breaks once in a while to watch a movie or two with them. If you were around when Maddie was sick and in an out of the ER you will remember that they said she had a virus around her heart... Well, she has been doing so much better since then, but it seems that it has had an affect on her. Even though she fights us every step of the way she has to come in from the pool and heat after about one or two hours. She just gets wiped out and then feels sick for quite a while afterwards. We found this out last week when we made the mistake of hitting the pool about 3pm and stayed in and played until dinner time. She was really sick for two days. Hence the coming in and watching a movie. It takes her mind off the fact that she wants to be in the water...
Ok, as I do work this morning I had better get on with it. Madison doesn't know it yet, but I made this one for her. She has been playing with her ' This is Me' doll that a friend of hers gave her on her 10th Birthday. OMWord, this doll has the biggest blue eyes you ever did see...So I got to looking at my CC Monday stamp and thought "Hmmm, you know she would look so cute with big fat eyes." so here she is. I have also been wanting to get some Washi tape from the farm, but haven't gotten any yet. (Wasn't sure I would really want to use it.) I did run into this note tape that our local Dollar Tree had. I thought what the heck $1 for two rolls.. So worth playing with it to see how I would use it. Ok, now I HAVE to buy some Washi tape. I must say it was so fun to play with my imitation Washi tape. Madison has seen this card, but has no idea it is for her. She does however want to have a new book marker with her colored exactly the same way...You see her doll has two tones of purple yarn for hair.. Hence the purple hair for Monday.
She really is a cute doll, and I think that Miss Monday looks just as cute if not more so..lol... Oh and just in case you believed me that I was going to take off the weekends off during the summer please be sure to check out my Saturday and Sundays posts. I just couldn't help it, I was having fun coloring. heehee..
Have a great day all and I'll talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G
