Nothing Happened...

Remember, it's not too late to enter my Halloween Candy.  Clink here!

Hi guys,
I hope that you all had a great weekend.  I am waiting until my oldest is done with his last minute notes and then I am headed off to bed. Until then though I wanted to share my card for the day with you all.
So for my Halloween Card today I picked one of my favorite 'Sweet November Stamps'.  Let me introduce you to Hilda.  She comes in a set with her best friend, his name is Vlad and he is a really  adorable bat.  I did stamp and emboss him, but I ended up putting him away for another card.  While I was coloring Hilda I decided that her little bubbling cauldron looked like a little Witch that might have made a slight error in her potion.  To me that might account for those extra bubbles coming down the side her cauldren.  lol... Going with that idea I just had to use the saying 'Nothing Happened'.  This will always make me smile as my Son,  since he was old enough to talk and walk has been known to say just that,  It seems that  anytime we hear a bang or a crash around the house,  even now  at 16 when we all know that he has dropped the remote for the hundredth time he will say "Nothing happened"  it just cracks me up and has actually become a Gobea family joke.
Well, that gives you the back ground on my sentiment/greeting, but the real reason that I picked Hilda out of my stamp storage is because my friend and fellow blogger Amy Y.  is starting her 'Sweet November Stamps' preview in the morning and I just felt like using one of her sweet stamps too... I guess it is my own way of Celebrating yet another 'Sweet November Stamps' preview release with her.   So if for some reason you have in some weird way not seen or heard of Amy and her awesome stamps, be sure to head over to her blog and see her candy and new stamps.  I for one can not wait to see what new image she has come up with.
Ok, Mitchell is finally calling it quits for the night, so I am off to dream land.  Tomorrow is another start to a long work week.  I hope you all have a great one and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

If the broom fits...

HALLOWEEN CANDY.... click HERE!

Hello once again.
Now you know I wasn't just going to leave you hanging for the weekend without a Halloween card.  :O)
Thankfully  I am feeling better today, so when I got home from work I decided to grab this cute digi from The Greeting Farm and color her up.  I am totally ignorant when it comes to the proper way to download a digi, so usually Jess has to email it to me.  I pretty sure that Jess is busy with her new little one, so I decided that I would just print this adorable digi as a big head and use it as a portrait kind of card.  I have this  awesome set of sentiment stamps from  AmyR called  'Ghostly Greetings'  so I have to confess that  I really picked the image to go with the sentiments on this one.
I think it turned out really sweet and I can not wait to be able to download her to the correct size and use the full image on yet another card.  lol...
So, as I still need to work tomorrow and the M&Ms  have one of their best friends over for the night I am going to call it done for the day.  I hope you all have a wonderful start to your weekend, and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

No card Friday...

Quick reminder to check out my Halloween Blog Candy HERE!

     Hi guys.
I want to welcome my new followers.  It is nice to have you here.  Thanks to everyone that is joining in on my Halloween Candy and for leaving such nice comments.  It truly makes my day.
This is going to be a quick post as I don't have a card to share with you.  I ended up coming home early today from work  as I am getting Jerry's cold and I truly felt wiped out. I have to work both tomorrow and Saturday so I thought I was better off coming home (while we were fully staffed)  and getting some much needed sleep.  Boy did I sleep!  It truly has helped me to feel better, so wish me luck that I will be feeling just as good in the morning.  :O)   After this post I headed right back to bed.
Even though I don't have a card to share with you I did want to share a New Stamp set that came in the mail today.  I have been seeing Nicole Kerr's 'My Style Stamps' all over YouTube and I finally was able to purchase a set from her.  She sells them on zibbet and they are photopolymer clear stamps. They are made in the USA and stamp very nicely.  Nicole has some other adorable stamps as well.  I just felt in the mood for one more Halloween set before I am done for the year.  lol.. They remind me of  both 'Lawn Fawn' and 'Paper Smooches'.  I didn't feel well enough to make a card, but I did stamp a couple of the images.  I have to tell you they stamp so nicely.  I am hoping to get a card made tomorrow after work with a couple of these adorable stamps.
In the mean time you can check Nicole's stamps out for yourself  here,  here and here. Happy Shopping.  I hope you all have a great Friday and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Just playing around for a couple of minutes.

trick-or-treat...

Reminder time:  Halloween Blog CANDY, click HERE!!!

Good morning all.
I want to welcome my new subscribers to my blog.  Thanks for becoming a follower.  I hope you are enjoying my Halloween cards and I am very happy to have you here.
As for all of you that have been hanging out with me all this time, I really want to thank you for all the love and support that you have shown me.
So I'm going to get right on my card for today.  This card has been the one that I have been putting off since last week when I colored up this ADORABLE Skeleton Ian.  He is a digi stamp from The Greeting Farm and I have had him for a very long time and never really inked him up until last week.
The reason that it has taken me this long to add him to a card is that I really loved  the way he turned out.  I was going for those costumes that have the yellowish white bones that glow in the dark on the black shirt and pants.  I'm sure you all have seen them or even remember they.  lol... So, as I am trying to expand my stamping and coloring abilities, I embossed Ian's mask and his tiny little bones with clear embossing powder.  I have to confess that I am very proud of myself with how he came out.  I even fussy cut out his mask so  that I could give it a more 3D effect once I pop dotted it on top of the original mask. .
Once I decided that he was going on a card tonight I also decided that his greeting had to be embossed as well.  I am so happy to tell you that both the outside greeting and the inside sentiment are both embossed with white embossing powder and I only had to do it the one time.  Not one mess up!  :O)  I truly have to thank my blogging friend Amy as she is the one that sent me a VersaMark stamp pad a very long time ago and I just now have gotten brave enough to try it again.  I am telling you, I could not get that technique to work for me for a very very long time now.  So a big hug and many many thanks Amy!
So guys, as you can tell it is very late once again.  Mitchell has been taking notes for his 'World History' class all week,  and even though he starts about an hour after he gets home from school it takes him a very long time to get them done.  That means he had been staying up until 11:30 or 12:00 am and  I always stay up with him. (He hates to be in our living room by himself at night.)  You can imagine that I am super tired, so off to dream land I am headed.
Hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

PS: I want to thank everyone that mentioned where I might be able to pick up the Wink of Stella clear pen that I so desperately want.  I did find that Amazon has it in a gold, silver & clear set.  Unfortunately do to having a family, I will have to wait until payday rolls around.  Grrr... what's a girl to do but wait most patiently. lol...I am sure that most of you know how that is, the teenager comes home from school and "Oh Mom I need this for school tomorrow!  We HAVE to have it!"  lol.... yes, that means goodbye Wink of Stella for just a little longer.  Anyway ran off on a tangent. Sorry.  Just really wanted to thank you all.

Just wanted to show off my embossing.  I think for the first time it turned out really nice for me.

Sorry just had to show off my emossing again. :O)

ghostly greetings...

Remember to check out my Halloween blog candy HERE!!!

Hi guys,
Can you believe I have another card of my Halloween series to share with you today?  I know right?
Anyway, this is going to be uber quick as I just finished polishing my nails and they are slightly tacky and  I really don't want to redo them just because I couldn't type up this post without making it into a novel.  lol...
So as you will see my card turned out a whole lot smaller than I thought it was going to be due to the fact that I didn't read the dimensions on a die that I purchased before I actually bought it.  :O(  Have you ever done that with a product?  Someone used it on a card or you found it online, and you  just had to have it and it was in no way even close to what you thought it was?  Well, this is mine for the year.  I really liked the idea of this die, but truly my whole card only measures 4 1/4 X3 1/4.  To me it is more like a note card.
I did have a great time taking this old Pumpkin Ian (digi) from The Greeting Farm and grabbing the jeans from Oh Boy Ian (you don't go trick or treating without a good pair of jeans on to keep you warm)  and paper piecing it all together.  I just love how sweet this Ian looks.  He really doesn't even seem to mind the little spider from FL's Heebie Jeebies set.  I then wanted to use some Stickles to help his web really show up.
I am really trying to get my hands on one the 'Wink Of Stella' by Zip's clear pens,  so that I can add that sparkle to my cards without all the chunkiness of Stickles.  As you can see I am not that great with it.
Ok guys,  I am ready to head to bed. So warn out as I have been up super late each night with my oldest M while he is working overtime on homework.  He doesn't like to be up by himself, so I sit in our very comfy chair and yawn the whole time trying not to fall asleep.  Poor kid everytime I yawn he stops what he is doing and says, "sorry Mom, almost done" .  I truly feel bad, but he so wants to get it all done.   Wish me luck tonight.  Not sure I will be able to stay awake.  lol...
So, I hope you all have a great Wednesday and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Sorry about the glare on the spider.  I used Glossy Accents on him and the flash must have caused it.

Hey Pumpkin...

REMINDER:

Halloween blog candy....click here!!!

     Hello everyone,
I hope that you are all enjoying my Halloween cards.   As most of you already know I am not Copic Certified, I just really love to color and make cards.  It is my way of relaxing after work or on the weekends.      I hope that your week is going well so far and that you all had a great Monday.  I am going to try and make this short as I am tired from a busy work day and an early morning tomorrow as well.
So, let's get right to my card.   I have to admit that so far this card is one of my FAVORITES!  You all know that I just love the Creeper Crew stamps from The Greeting Farm and this little 'Sweet and Toxic' is one of my faves.  So with her little skull hairpins all ready to go she just  had to make an appearance on one of my Halloween cards. :O)    I felt that she needed to have red hair as it just kind of goes with the whole Halloween theme.  (All redheads, please don't be offended.  I have a redheaded Sister, Sister-in-law, two nephews and a Great Niece-in-law)  Oh no, I am surrounded!!!  lol...
Moving on... My card came to be because of this awesome new 6x6 paper pad from Graphic45  that I purchased and really wanted to make a card with.  I thought that 'Sweet & Toxic' really went with the papers,  so I  grabbed an oldy but a goody from BasicGrey, the Graphic45 paper pad and Sweet & Toxic.  Threw then all together and voila.... Instant Halloween card!
Ok guys, that's it for me today.  I hope you all have a wonderful evening.  I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

I forgot to mention that I also made this card to enter it into The Greeting Farm's FFF challenge of paper piecing.  I paper pieced her hairpins and her dress,  I love how they turned out and how it allowed me the ability to make those skulls really shine.  Thanks for stopping by.

I took all of these pictures without a flash.  I am hoping that will help with keeping
the colors more true. Let me know what you think.  I don't want my cards to look dark.
Thanks for the input.

Happy Halloween...

 Just a little reminder:
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY HALLOWEEN CANDY here!!!

I hope that you are all having a wonderful start to the first day of Autumn if you are in this part of the world.  Don't know if that makes it the first part of Spring for those of you in New Zealand  (hello my friend), or any other part of the world, let me know.  In any case I hope that you are having a great weekend.
Ok, so as promised I am going to finally start my Halloween card series.  I don't know how many I'll be making, so I am just going to have fun with it and see where it takes me.  Hope that you enjoy them as well.
My first card I decided that I really wanted to use this 'memorybox' die that I purchased at the beginning of the Summer.  I have been waiting most impatiently.  lol... I also grabbed some doodlebug papers and a little bit of the new ribbon that I purchased from 'Walmart's' Halloween section. (Just 97 cents, but you have to watch them as they don't ring up right.  Big surprise!) Sorry, I got off track there. lol...  Anyway, I really had fun with this card and I think that it turned out super cute.  I am a little irritated as I don't know if it is my camera or my computer, but the orange paper is the same color as my ribbon.  I have tried editing the pictures several times to no avail. Ggrrr.
I hope you all like it anyway.  hehee...
Be sure to go and check out my Candy if you haven't already.

I also want to Wish my Sister and Brother-in-law a very Happy Anniversary!

Have a great day and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

HALLOWEEN CANDY!!! ends Oct. 31, 2013

Hi guys,
Well, as you can see I had all the intentions of starting up a Halloween card series last week and unfortunately I did not take into consideration my work schedule or the storm that hit us hard on Sunday night.  The storm took out the power throughout most of our town.  We were without it for about 10 hours while others went with out for at least 24 hours.  Then schools were closed on Monday due to power outages and all of the dabree that was left behind.  I have lived here now since 1990 and have to tell you I have not seen a rain/thunder storm this back in all that time.  The winds were really bad and some are saying there was a small tornado that hit just up a few blocks away.  It wasn't a bad one and thank God no one was hurt in it.
So, now that you know what I have been doing and what a fun weekend we had lets get to the fun part of this post.  I don't have a card to share with you all, but I do have  some Halloween Candy that is guaranteed not to rot your teeth,  Yep, it is time to give a way a little bit of blog candy.   I seem to have missed my blogaversary, so I wanted to put together a small package to share you guys..
All of these products are brand new and I have been saving them up for a little while now.  Part of the candy is some on the clear rubber stamps that you can pick up at just about any craft store.  I always seem to want them, and then the poor things just sit in my closet never to see the dark side of the ink pad.  lol...
So, because I love to make cards and I know that most of you do too.  I have decided to give away 3 6x6 paper pads, some foam alpha stickers and a bit of pearl bling.  Along with that you will find some rub-on alphas and a few of my favorite clear stamps. There is also a red rubber alpha that I have mounted, but never got around to cutting up as I was afraid I would ruin it.
What do you have to do to enter into my blog candy?  Well it is simple.  I would love it if you were a subbie..  New subbies are always welcome, so no worries there.  I would love it if you were to share my give away on your blog or YouTube if you can. .  It isn't mandatory, but truly would be awesome if you could.  I would also like you to leave a comment of this post.  I have decided that for each new post you leave a comment on after this one you will get a second, third and so on entry into my candy.  I will be having a small 'secret'  give away for one person that tells me who their favorite on-line store is and what they tend to purchase there. So keep on commenting.  I can not wait to see how many come by or who wins.
This blog candy will end on Oct. 31, 2013, and everyone is invited to enter.  Thanks for checking it out and I hope you all like it.
Ok guys,  I am hoping to be back tomorrow with my first Halloween card.  I actually have today off and I managed to clean my desk and surrounding area so I am set to get crafty.
I hope you all have a creative weekend and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa  G

Welcome....

Hi guys.
Wow, I sure hope you all had a great week.  We were so busy at work and it is so HOT here that by the time I got home each night I didn't even feel like eating let alone making a card to share.
Thankfully, I just got done with work and I have the next two days off so I can not wait to get some crafty time in.  That of course is after the family and I sit down and finally watch the latest Star Trek movie.  Madison is a huge fan of  Benedict Cumberbatch and Jerry is a Trekkie big time,  so we are popping the popcorn and getting ready to enjoy the movie.
I just wanted to stop in and say Hi to everyone real quick and share a little picture and story with you.      Jerry and I were picking up some stuff at Walmart when I came across a cute little dog sweater that had these skulls on them.  lol... Well, little Miss Madison is a fan of skulls and as Casper is technically her cat we surprised her (and Casper) with it. lmbo... Sorry, it is just too funny and he is such a good cat. He let us put it on and then he just dropped down on the floor and sat there looking at me.
The sweater has since been taken off and everyone is happy once again, but the look of our cute Casper gave me the idea to make up a few Halloween cards this next week.
Soooooo Welcome to my Halloween Card Series.  It may be one card, it may be ten.  At this point I really don't know.  I just hope you enjoy them.   Until then have a great day everyone and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Casper didn't think that the idea of a sweater in 90 degree weather was that great.  lol...
Yes, we have  air conditioning and it was only on for as long as it took to get my camera and a picture.

You are PICTURE perfect - FFF Challenge

Hi guys.

I hope everyone is having a great start to their week.  We were really busy at work today, and that lead to me not getting home until 7pm.   Not too big of a deal, but due to the fact that I was being lazy yesterday that means that I need to make this post a quick on so that I still have time to paint my finger nails.  lol.... One has to have their priorities straight.  lol..
Last week I placed a small order from The Greeting Farm and I was so excited that it came in the mail Saturday.  The main reason I placed the order was to get the newest addition to the farm.  Yes, none other than 'Picture Perfect' Anya and Ian.   I just had to have this set!   They are just as adorable in person as the whole DT made them look on paper.  :O)
Ok, I know I said this was going to be a quick post, so let's get to my card. Of course I wanted to ink my new stamps up right away so I headed over to the TGF blog to see what the FFF Challenge was this week and I could not believe it, this week the theme is 'Picture This'!  That's right, all you needed to do was make a card or project that fit the theme.
Well, I had the perfect stamps and I had long ago purchased the Polaroid die from LF as well as some of the Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon from Tim Holtz, so I knew I was good to go.  I decided that my card should show Ian taking a picture of his girl Anya.  I gave Anya a pretty dress that she borrowed from her friend WS-Dressy Ebony-digi.
Once Anya was all dressed up all I needed  then was to add a little of the film strip ribbon,  some of those awesome enamel dots that I am obsessed with at the moment and I had my card ready to for the FFF challenge over at The Greeting Farm.  You can check it out here and play along as well.
So I hope you all have a great week. I hope you like my card as much as I do.  It was so fun to put this one together.  I have a couple other cards to share with you this week, so I am sure I will talk at you all later.
Hugs,  Lisa G

Tomorrow is Another Day...

Good morning friends.
I hope that you are all having a great weekend.  My oldest  M&M has been down and out with a cold since Thursday, but he is getting better all snuggled up on the couch these last couple of days.  Thank God for the healing powers of  'Vicks vapor rub' and a little TLC.  :O)
So today I thought I'd share a card that I was playing around with last week.. I wanted to make something a little different and use some of my flower dies (that at the time I just had to have).  I think all in all the flowers came out pretty good, but one of these days I am going to breakdown and splurge on the felt that 'MFT' sells. From what I have read and seen on YouTube it the best and everyone just loves how well it die cuts .  Then I think I will LOVE how my flowers turn out.
I wanted to keep this a  very simple card, as I have a friend that is going through some things and I wanted to help cheer her up. I didn't realize at the time that I am still obsessed with  anything that looks remotely like an enamel dot. lol... Upon looking at my card this morning I see that I have been using banner cuts a lot as well, but they are so simple to make and they really do look good on a card.
Ok, that 's all for me today. For my friends that are still enjoying the weekend, have a great Sunday and for those that have already started your work week I hope that it is off and running well.
Take care everyone and I will talk at you all later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Back to School...

Hi guys.
Hope you have all had a great week.  I have been sooooo so busy all week both at work and at home that I for one am going to be so happy for Saturday morning.  No work and possibly a little craft time.  :O)
We are starting to get a very bad thunder storm at the moment so I will have to make this a quick one.
This card is for my friend's granddaughter as she just headed back to school this week.
Well the light have flash a couple of time so I better get done.
Have a super Friday and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G
