you totally ROCK...
Good morning friends.
Can you believe that we are now halfway through this week once again. Omword, it really messes me up when I miss a day and then before you know it the week has just flown bye. So, as is the case lately I am going to make this one a somewhat short post as I still need to head out and enjoy my family for an hour on our walk. Yesterday we ended up cutting it short as I really did not have it in me. I am happy to say however that I am starting to feel myself again and I really don't want to loose any ground with our walking. I think that not only has it helped us all to be in better shape it also gives us each a sense of accomplishment each time we go just a little further down the road.
Remember that I said short, so let me get to the real purpose of my post today. Well here goes. lol... When I was working Saturday we ended up selling a nice lady a new diabetic testing system. Of course our Pharmacist always takes it out of the box and helps the customer to figure out how to operate the devise and understand what it is they are reading and all the info that goes along with test your blood sugars. Most of the time the customer doesn't want the insert to the box, so we end up trying to recycle as much as we can then throw the rest in the trash. Well, I just could not let that beautiful piece of silver foil that is stronger than a thin chip board but thinner go to waste. I brought it home and knew that it had to go on a boys card ASAP. lol.... Once I had my card all done my sweet Madison so nicely pointed out to me that I have used both of these stamps together before, but I think that they just go so well and it really fit into my plan as to want I wanted this card to say. As you can see I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder (spots & dots) to make the foil come alive and tell the story. I wanted to add some brads along with it, but didn't have any in my stash that would work, so I used my old school hand held paper punch to punch out some circles within the circles and I have to admit that I really love how it turned out. I might add that I have to take it to work as they all just can not imagine how it could be used on a card. lol....
Speaking of work, do you remember when I made the sign that had Geisha Anya on it and it was for some beautiful oriental canes that we had for sale? Well, we have sold all the canes but four and when I was heading home the other day I looked over and noticed that someone had RIPPED Anya off of the sign and taken her. It kind of made me sad. If someone had wanted one like her I would have had no problem making on. I just could not believe it. Our pharmacy is privately owned and really not that big at all. We have cameras everywhere with signs and yet people still have no problem taking what they feel they need. It just amazes me! My Grandma (who was 97) used to watch the news and read the paper everyday and then she would shake her head and say "Sometimes I feel like I have lived too long." Well I have to admit that I finally understand what she meant.
Ok guys, I have whined enough. Time to get off my soap box and hit the road. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

WANNA CUDDLE?
Good morning all.
I am hoping that today goes better than yesterday. I ended up getting to work a little late, ( Only 15 minutes, but I HATE to be late ever!) only to end up coming home as I was not feeling well at all. I ended up spending my day in bed. I watched the movie 'Letters to Juliet.' Loved it, but felt like my whole day was a waste. I hate, hate not feeling up to par and waisting time. So, so far this morning things are going better and we are getting ready to hit the road for our walk. It has been cooler in the mornings, but it is still so beautiful and feels so good to see the sun come up and smell the fresh air before it hits 90 degrees outside.
Ok well, I am being summoned to get a move on so I will get right to it. My card today was one that I made with an older Kraftin Kimmie stamp, but I don't have many of them and I was tickled pick to get her at such a great price from Susana's. Susana has a lot of things on sale again and even more new 6x6 paper pads in stock, so run don't walk over. SCACD I have already snagged some gorgeous Halloween and Christmas pads. Can not wait for them to get here. I know that it won't be long as Susana ships sooooo fast! Anyway, when I first laid eyes on this stamp I of course thought of my Hubby and of our cat Lucy. I have been practicing, but I really can not make a black cat look cute with my Copics yet. So I decided that this little one would be paper pieced together with brown paper from my 7gypsies paper pad and some earth tone Copics. I have to say that even though she doesn't look like my Lucy I still love how she turned out. I have also been seeing a lot of different style of cards lately, so I wanted to change it up a little and made a gate fold card. I was going for the papers on the front to look like an old dinning room with the striped wallpaper on the bottom only to be separated by white wood (my lace) and then have a nice flower wallpaper for the top part. lol...Who thinks like this? :O} Anyway, I am very happy with how she turned out. I paper pieced her outfit as well, as I really wanted it to look summer lounging but beautiful at the same time. Laughing to myself..... Sorry!
Alright, I think you get the idea that I am a nerd. Have a wonderful day all. I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

SNAIL MAIL....
Good morning all. Wow it's Monday once again and that means heading back to work for me. I am so so running late this morning, so I am going to make this my smallest post ever. I wanted to make a card for the FFF blog throw back challenge #3. Be sure to check it out as it's not too late to play along. I picked Bree to go with some of the new paper that I purchased from BoBunny (Zoology Collection). I think she is just so sweet looking and I couldn't help but make her eyes huge. lol...
That's going to have to do it for me today. Have a great day everyone. I will talk at you tomorrow

THANK YOU & BODY SWAPPING...
Good morning everyone.
TGIF! I have to work tomorrow, but I am hoping to get some swimming in and a lot of crafting done once I get home at 1pm. Yesterday was my half day at work and I did get some errands done, but then by 5pm I was so tired that I actually took a two hour nap. lol... I think that while our walks and swimming are great but along with work and spending time with my kiddies is really taking it's tole on me this week. I am just so tired and I really hate taking a nap or being unable to do what I have in my mind to get done. Don't like to waste time sleeping. lol.... I know I am weird, but I really do love the early morning and the late night. I guess once you hit 45 your body doesn't care what your mind wants. The body wins....
Ok, I will quit complaining and get on with it so that we can head out on our morning walk. (I slept in yesterday until 6 and didn't walk. :O( Oh well.) Anyway my card today is yet another 'Thank you' card for the M&M's to give to a friend of mine that gave them both a wonderful gift for their Birthdays. I decided that I loved how much my body swapping worked that I would try another. This time I used WS-Ebony and CC-Leslie. I also used some of my new paper from echo park and paper pieced her outfit. It sure came out a bright and happy card. I made a little pocket on the inside so that I could make two individual slips of paper to pull out that both Mitchell and Madison could have room to write their own specific notes. I think that it worked out great and both kids really had a fun time writing out their 'Thank You' notes. I have to admit that I really like how it turned out.
Well I had better get a move on. Hope you all have a terrific Friday.
Hugs, Lisa G

FFF-GRATUITY PLEASE...
OMWord y'all, it's already Wednesday and I have actually posted each day so far this week and that includes Sunday. lol... Can you believe your eyes? lol...
Ok, I'll be serious for a moment. I have to say that this week's Farm Fresh Challenge could not have been more perfect for me and my M&Ms. As you might expect my two kids have a few 'Thank You' cards that they need to get written and delivered very soon so I thought that I would lend them a hand and make a card for the challenge this week at the same time. After all the challenge this week is to make a 'thank you' card for someone. My M&Ms are smart kids and they both enjoy all of my Greeting Farm stamps as you all know. They seem to really love the Creeper Crew ones the most however. I can not tell you how many book markers I have made this last year as they always want a new on for each book they read, and that doesn't include the ones that I have made for their friends as well. Well this time I wanted to use something a little different than a Creeper Crew so I took a couple of Wild Sprout out and gave them bodies from the Creeper Crew. I LOVE how these two turned out and Madison said that they should make stamps for teens that they call Creeper Sprouts. I don't know about you guys, but I would buy them in a flash. Until they do I will just have to keep combining my stamps. lol... I promised I didn't hurt them.
That's all I have for today. I am not sure what I was thinking, but I didn't take a picture of the inside of this one or of the Copics I used. So with that said and because I still have a walk to go on this morning before I head off to work I am going to get a move on. I hope that you all have a great day and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 13...
Hi guys, are you tired of my Birthday cards yet? I promise today is the last one. Thanks goodness I only have two babies that I go on and on about. lol...
I think that I will get right to my card today as I still need to hit the great outdoors with the family and then get back and head right into the shower for work. Awww it just been so beautiful here that I can't keep myself from getting up and enjoying that early morning feel when most of the neighborhood is still sleeping and the sun hasn't made it 90 degrees quite yet.
Ok let me get to it. As I am sure you have already guessed this was the card that I made for Madison's 13th Birthday. Madison is a huge fan of the Creeper Crew stamps from The Greeting Farm, so I just had to use Friday. She loves music just about as much as my Madison does. lol... What you don't know is that Friday has some French playing on her headphones so that she will be able to speak the language while she is sight seeing. I of course used the Madison Avenue collection of papers from MME. Love, love these papers. They just make for the prettiest cards.
Well guys, it's that time already and I have to get my tennis shoes on so that I can enjoy our walk. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk at you tomorrow.

CELEBRATE SPECIAL 14...
Good morning everyone.
I hope that you all had a great weekend. We had the best weather here this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday ended up getting into the 90's. We all went on our walks early so that it was still cool and refreshing. Yesterday by the time we got home and cooled down Madison and I decided that a swim was just what the doctor ordered. It was so fun just the two of us playing around and swimming then of course a little of the sunbathing on the rafts. My favorite part. I could have fallen asleep if Maddie hadn't been in the pool with me. lol...
I wanted to thank everyone for leaving my M&Ms Birthday wishes yesterday. They both had me show them the comments. It really means a lot to them as well as Jerry and I. You are all so sweet.
I had promised to share the cards that I made for the kids this week after they received them. So, I thought that as Mitchell is my oldest (14 years old) I would start with his card. I decided to use Ian from Sweet & Toxic as even though Mitchell has never had that long of hair he does love this stamp. I also left the tie with the cross on it as Mitchell is very much into God and church. He is my sweetie to the core. Anyway, as Mitchell is into anything that has to do with Super Heroes and that kind of thing I decided to use Amy Young's great idea to make the hair Super Hero Blue. I wasn't able to make it look as cool as Amy's, but Mitchell absolutely loved his card. :O) I also figured that I could keep on practicing it as she has a great video on it, so be sure to check it out. I was going to show you how the inside turned out, but it has a private message to him so I couldn't do that this time. I suppose I need to remember to take the pictures before I give out the cards. lol....
Ok guys we still have to get our walk in before I hit the shower and head to work. I hope that you all have a great day and I will talk at you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Lisa G
