HAPPY MAIL...

Hi guys.
I just wanted to drop in and share some happy mail that I received today.  Last week I was VERY lucky and won some candy from the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog.  Mind you I must have been really excited as I was thinking that I was going to get just one of her awesome stamps.  Well,  as you can see I actually won all three of her newest Halloween Stamps.  Yay me!  :O)   Can you see my huge grin?  I am GRINNIN!  I really want to thank Kraftin' Kimmies for such a wonderful surprise this evening.  I think they are soooo cute and just as soon as we get settled into this school year I am so going to start playing with my new stamps.  lol... Wish me luck!
I don't think I will get my card that I am currently working on done until Wednesday, so let me thank you all for coming by.  I am hoping to get up a brand new card and Madison's 'Back to School' nails that she wants me to paint for her.  So, until then let me just give my newest followers a warm Welcome.  I also want to thank all of you for all your sweet comments.  I love reading them and can't wait to get to it just as soon as I am home from work.
Have a great day everyone.  Talk at you tomorrow.

SUNDAYS WITH TWO CRAZY CATS....

Lucy imitating my Dad's one eye "Why are you bothering me?" look.  Sorry Dad... lol...

She finally tucked under her paw and went back to sleep.

Sunday on her Daddy's lap.  Isn't he have some cute legs?  lol..
Good morning everyone.
I've been told that it can't just be Sundays with Lucy as our newest family member has something to say as well.  So,  I am working on a new Sunday post title...  Any suggestions?  :O)
So, we started our morning off by taking our longest walk so far.  We all have these pedometers that we put on our belts, but they measure steps and not miles.  We are going to see about getting one that tells us how far we have gone.  It just really makes it more interesting for us all to know how far we have walked.
Well like I said this is suppose to be about the two crazy cats that we live with. When we got home Lucy must have really worn herself out by waiting for us to come back home as she jumped on my black wing back chair and this is how she looked.  lol.... "Please No Pictures!"  lol...   I just know that is what she was saying.  We just love this cat.  Once I started to take her picture she opened one of her eyes to give me this look that so reminds me of my Dad.  When I was growing up he could fall asleep standing on the stairs.  At one point in my life my Dad went to night school, worked full time at his Dad's construction company and then worked at a gas station on the weekends.  He also had a paper route at the same time and he would be up and out of the house by 4am.  I would try so hard to get up with him and go on his route.  Most times we I did go with him I would end up waking up about 10 minutes before it was all over.  I do however remember the wonderful sun coming up and the birds chirping while everyone else was tucked in their beds.  I can still remember the wonderful smells and sounds.  Maybe that's why I love to see the sun come up.  :O)
Ok I will get back on topic, which leads us to Sunday.   Yes, you are looking at her in my house.  She is sitting on her Daddy's lap while watching Lucy lay on the flour. I have to tell you that my Lucy is so good however.  She never hisses or growls at Sunday.  She just lays on the floor facing Sunday just in case.  Sunday on the other hand always makes sure she has a clear route to the front door and she will eventually get down and head to the door.  She is pretty good too, but from time to time she will still growl at Lucy from the comfort of her Daddy.
Well guys,  I so need to go take a shower.  Get some of this crime from our walk off of me.  I love to walk and I don't even mind the sweating part anymore,  but once I am done I am ready to hit the shower.  Hope you all have a great day.  Talk at you tomorrow.

SURPRISE !

Good morning everyone.
I thought that I would post a card that I was playing with all week long. lol...  This is just a random card that I made for two reasons.  The first because my friend Amy Young has been really putting out some great videos on how she colors with her Copic Markers.  Two of them were on how she colors her Mermaids.  That got me to thinking that I needed to have Cordelia, from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and then it  made me want to color her up as well.  The second reason is because I don't usually have a post for Saturdays, and my poor Mom really hates that as she likes to check my blog everyday to see what I have made.  Thank You Mom,  this is for you.  :O)
We are heading out once again to start our walk, but we have to be back long before 8:30am so that I can watch Ree's show on the Food Network.  I am over halfway through her book and I can not wait to see her new show.  I think it is going to be a very good one. lol...
So, that all for me today.  I didn't even make a list of the supplies that I used as I was just having fun trying out new ideas on this one.   I did however use some of the awesome Viva Perlen Transparent pen to make little bubbles heading to the surface while she visited with her good friend.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

YOU GET A GOLD STAR !

Good Friday morning to ya!
So sorry to be missing yesterday, but instead of my half day my boss let me take the whole day as a vacation day so that we could go and get the M&M's school shopping done before everyone else in town hit the stores.  :O)  Huge smile over here.  We all got up at 5:30am and hit the road for our morning walk.  Jerry decided not to feed Sunday until we were just getting ready to leave and that seemed to keep her from following us.  Because I had the extra time we were able to get in another long walk.  That really makes my whole day.  We were back home and ready to go shopping by 8am when most of the stores in this smallish town are just opening.  It was so nice to actually be the first shoppers over at Staples.  On Tuesday after we had registered the kids for school we tried to go there for their supplies and you could barely turn around in that huge store, so we just left.  I am glad that we did it all today.  It was an awesome day and of course we surprised them both with the news that I was home for the whole day and we were going to get this all done and still have the afternoon to play and go swimming.   As you all know I love days like that.
Now as I did have the whole day I had time to make a new sign for our store.  After all the fair was last week and you can't have a sign that says it's fair week still up.  lol... We decided that it would be a great idea to go with the whole back to school theme,  so I pulled out Teacher Anya and boy did I have a great time enlarging her and giving her an old time black board to write on with that wonderfully dusty chalk.  I pulled some of  last year's show&tell 4x6 paper pack from WeR Memory Keepers out of my stash to help it look like she had decorated her classroom for her new students and to pull the colors for her outfit.   I am very happy with how this turned out.  It measures 12x12 and I think it will really look great on our display at work.  lol....
That's all for me today.  I hope that you all have a wonderful Friday and I will talk at you tomorrow.

A GREAT BOOK DESERVES IT'S OWN BOOK MARKER...

 Good morning friends.
Well here we are already at the halfway point in this week.  I don't have to be to work until 9am today, so we are getting ready to head out on our walk with our brand new shoes.  lol...  I just have to mention just one more time how happy I am to have my kids excited with all this exercise and the results that they are seeing from their hard work.   We headed over and got them registered for their 8th grade classes yesterday and Madison was just so happy to be getting back to the grind that she won't shut up about it.  Mitchell on the other hand tends to get nervous about everything, so he is ready to tape her mouth shut just so he doesn't have to hear anything about school until next Wednesday when we get him up to take his shower.. lol... Poor kid.  :O)
So, as most of you have realized by now when I find something that interests me I kind of go overboard finding out everything I can about it.  Hense all the Copic markers,  my growing collection of Greeting Farms stamps and my latest obsession with Tim McGraw songs and just about anything cowboy.  lol...  I think you get the point.
So  that brings me to my post for today.  Last week I was on my break at work and I had forgotten to bring my book to read.  I picked up Woman's Day  in the lobby and thumbed through it.  While I was doing so I came across a story by Ree Drummond that she had written about how she had met her husband.  Ree has been blogging since 2006 so of course once I got home I had to head over and check her out.  (Just click here)  Then I found out that the book was already in print (it was a magazine from February of this year) so of course the next day on my lunch break I had to head over to Hastings to purchase it.  Then the next thing I know it is Sunday and we were watching the 'Food Truck Road Race' on the Food Network when all of a sudden there Ree is.  She is going to be hosting her own show this coming Saturday about her life on a cattle ranch in the middle of Oklahoma.  I won't give away anymore details  in case you want to check out her book, except to say she calls her hubby the Marlboro Man.  lol..
This is a great book even though I have only had a total of 40 minutes to read I am totally hooked.  So, getting back to my post.  As you know the M&Ms and I all like to make a new bookmarker for each and every book we read so I decided that I would use Cheeky Shooter for this one and give her some red hair to look a little like Ree.  Silly I know, but I just couldn't help myself.  This book is fantastic and I can't recomend it enough.
Ok guys, I am off to take a walk with the family.  I hope that you all have a wonderful day and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

CELEBRATE YOU...

Good morning all.
I sure hope that you had a wonderful Monday.  I for one didn't actually get to sit down in my house until well after 9pm last night.  Once I got home from work we wisked the M&Ms off to get haircuts and then we headed to Big5 where we purchased 4 pairs of new running shoes.  I can not tell how fun that was.  We ended up getting the nicest guy that waited on us.  Poor thing ran himself ragged bringing us different pairs of shoes.  I know it is his job, but I can honestly tell you that everyother time we have ever been there we have not been treated very good and this guy was over the top fantastic!  I think he needs to be noticed for being such a sweetheart.  lol...  Anyway, I can not tell you the last time I bought myself a pair of running shoes.  Usually we just purchase the kids theirs for school and Jerry and I tend to just suck it up until ours wear completely out.
Ok, I am running behind as you might have noticed so I will get to it.  I really wanted to make a card with my newest Ian from The Greeting Farm.  He is just so cute and there are so many ways you can use him.  I used my awesome friend Amy Young's baby wipe technique to take off his present and then he looks like he is hanging a banner for someone special.  While I was playing around with Ian I decided that this would be a great card to use some of my newest BG buttons on and then I could enter him into the FFF 'Button it Up' challenge over at the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.  So I hope you guys like him.  Ian was so fun to color and I even used some glossy accents to make his banner pop.
I also want to welcome Alex as one of my newest followers.  I am glad that joined my blog and that you are enjoying my idea of how to color The Greeting Farm stamps. lol...  Thanks everyone for not running screaming when I go on and on about the M&Ms and the cats.  You are all very sweet and I always look forward to reading all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.  Have a great day everyone.  Talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs,  Lisa G

VAVAVOOM !

-

This is one of the two flowers that Sharon
made and sent to me.  Isn't it great?

Good morning.
It is already Monday.  Can you believe it?  I for one want to know where all the time has gone.  Omword.  lol....  I want to welcome some new followers to my blog.  Hi Ambrella, Sharon, Sarah Moura and Ashlee.  Welcome to my blog.  Thanks so much for becoming a follower and for the nice comments  :O)   As you all know I love reading everyone's comments and I so appreciate them all.
Now,  I just have tell you a little something about our weekend before I get to today's card.  As you  all probably know by now we are trying to take walks at least five days a week.  Well this weekend we went on a walk both Saturday and Sunday.  Or I should say we tried to.   heehee  What that means is that each morning we get up early and feed both Lucy (inside of course, this is her house and she NEVER goes outside. lol...) and Sunday (on the front porch).  They both get some loving from us all then we head out depending on who picks where we go that day.  So, Saturday we decided so head up a totally different way and we had walked about two blocks when Madison hears a "meow" and turns to see that Sunday had followed us.  We ended up having to go home again and try all over again only to have her follow us once more.   We let her come, but as we wanted to go on a longer walk we sent her home only to have her head right back.  Needless to say our Saturday walk was cut short by about a mile after all was said and done.   When we started out yesterday she tried the same thing.  We had gotten over 3 blocks away when sure enough there she is.  Finally we ended up taking her back to the house and with a lot of complaining on my part, (Jerry didn't like my idea) all four of us had to pile in the car and drive over two blocks only to park the car and get out and start our walk.  It was a wonderful walk however.  We were able to walk to downtown and head all the way over to the M&M's Junior High and then head back.  Jerry stopped and picked up the car while the kids and I headed back home to be greeted by Sunday sitting on the front porch all happy to see us again.   I do have to admit that I am going to be sad with school starting as we will have to figure out how we are going to get our walks in without having to get up in the dark and walk at 4am.
If anyone has a suggestion on how you walk or exercise during the winter months with a busy schedule I would love to hear it.  :O)   It has made such a difference to all four of us just to get this exercise I just don't want to loose it for any of us.
Ok guys, if your still here I "thank you".  I am sorry for going on.  When I was junior in High School I had good friend that was a football player and he asked me one day why I always talked in paragraphs.  lol.... Well I didn't quit know what his problem was, but as I am much older now I get it.  I am even ok with it as I don't like to talk on the phone much, but YES... I will talk your ear off in person.  Ok, ok back to my card.   While I was working on some Birthday cards for friends and family I decided that I wanted to make Jerry a simple card and of course I had to use Samantha from Krafin Kimmie Stamps.  She is just so cute and I look nothing like her,  but to Jerry I do so I knew he would appreciate her.  :O)   Anyway as I was making my card I got to looking in my drawer for the perfect accents to put with her and I knew right about that I had to use these beautiful flowers that Sharon the 'Night Owl Scrapper' or as I first met her 'SMSCRAPPER' on YouTube had made and given to me this last Christmas.  Yes, I have been hoarding them as they are so pretty.  I just felt however that they went so well here because of the fancy feathers and golden beads along with the buttons.  I just love them!  Thanks again Sharon.
Alright guys,  I will let you go.  I hope you all have a wonderful Monday.  Mine is going to be a busy one.  I have two kids that need haircuts and clothes so after work we need to head out and take care of that so that when we head over for registration on Tuesday they can show off their slimmer bodies and new hair styles in their pictures that will be in this years yearbook.  Wish me luck and a ton of patience for Jerry.  lol...
Hugs, Lisa  G
