It's Your Day...

Hi guys.
Can you believe it?  Two posts in one week...  I know I'm in shock myself.  lol...
I have been making a few cards lately and just waiting to share them after the recipients have gotten them.  Today's card is one of those that I made special.
My baby Brother turned 39 on September 13th this year and I really wanted to make him a special card.
We all know how hard it can be to come up with a guy card, so I started looking through a couple of my card magazines when I ran across and article in CardMaker's magazine (July 2012 issue) about great ways of using your Washi tape.  I don't have that many Washi tapes and most are darker colors, but it got me thinking that it would be perfect for a guy kind of card.
One of the cards in the article was designed by Michelle Woerner, and I just really liked the style of it.   Her card is just so pretty and full of wonderfully bright summer colors. I desided that with my darker Washi tape it would be perfect for a guy card.  I was able to  pull out a few of  my sentiments stamps, a little bit of manly blue bling and Tada !    :O)  I have to say that I am very happy with how it turned out.  Can you believe that I didn't use one Copic on it and absolutely no design paper?  I KNOW!   Right?    lol...
So guys that's my card share for today.  I am off to bed as it will be yet another early morning for the whole family.  Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.  Talk at you later.
Happy Birthday Rick!  (I did wish him a Happy Birthday on his Birthday just in case you are wondering.  I'm a good older sister.  lol )

Do you remember Mexican Jumping Beans?

Hi guys.
I know that today is usually put aside for the 'Paw paw-Razzi', and well today's post is still something of the same with just a tiny little bit of nostalgia mixed in.
I was on my way to work yesterday and decided to stop for gas before work as by the time I get off in the afternoon they are usually packed.  Anyway, when I went in to pay for my gas they had a little display of these Mean Beans.  In my day they were called Mexican Jumping Beans, and I am sure with all the political correctness that is why these little guys are now called Mean Beans.
However, I am married to a Mexican and I have two of his beautiful babies so as I grew up with the beans being called Mexican Jumping Beans and my Husband has no problem with that I brought a couple of the cute little plastic containers to show the kids.  I am sure it had more to do with me just being nostalgic of my childhood as I remember my Dad filming with the Super 8 camera while the really bright light was on the beans to make them jump and clink even more.  :O)  I do however hope that no one is offended by what we have always called them.  If you are I do apologize in advance.
Ok, long story short the M&Ms were both like "Oh cool Mom, can I go back to my room now?  Talk to you later."  Well not so to my fur babies.  lol... Casper heard them first and he really just wanted to play.  Lucy looked at them like the kids did and walked away.  Our poor Boo was freaked out.  She snuck up to it and when I reached to move it  a little closer she must have jumped two feet.  lmbo...
So, for your viewing pleasure the only one caught on film here was our little Casper trying to eat the plastic containers with the poor Mean/Mexican Jumping Beans.  Oh, and by the way we are telling Madison that it is gasses that heat up that makes them jump and not moth larvae.  She is petrified of Moths and I really want her to enjoy these as much as we used to as kids.  lol
Have a great rest of your weekend.
Hugs, Lisa G

Live in the Sunshine ...

Hi guys.
Wow,  I am so sorry for my lack of being around lately.  Just when I think I am back into making cards and blogging something new comes up.
On Monday morning I woke up with a temp and a very bad migraine.  I really didn't think too much of it at first, then I thought that I was just getting whatever the M&Ms had been sick with a week or two ago.  Finally late Tuesday and after two days of sleep and feeling really really bad  I found out that this is all due to a tooth that has turned into a really bad infection.  It has caused my whole body to go all haywire.  I know that I should have taken care of it a VERY long time ago, but I hate, hate dentist.  : (
Anyway getting on with it.  After taking a prescription for a couple of days now,  I am starting to feel better and heading off to work this morning for the first time this week.  I hate this very much, but now I have to go back to the dentist and have it worked on just as soon as all of the infection has cleared up.  Did I mention how much  I really really do HATE going to the  dentist and that nasty smell that comes from their offices.  No kidding...
On the brighter side I am finally feeling good enough to share a card that I made.  This card I made specifically for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge.  It is the first time that I have done this and the very first time that I was able to re-size my picture and load it onto the SCS gallery.  Needless to say, I am very proud of myself for that in and of it's self.  lol.... It really doesn't take much to make me happy.  lol..
So, as you can win a $20 gift certificate to MFT if you use one of their stamps I pulled out the first stamp that I ever purchased from them.  Mind you I only have a total of two, but I am hoping to rectify that issue in the future.  bahhaaahaa....  I am sure you all know about this sketch challenge over on the SPS sight, but even if you don't use one of their stamps you can still win a $15 gift certificate if you get picked.

I think this sketch is a very fun one, and so I decided to go with an end of the summer/one final summery card for this.  I had a great time with 'ep' paper and I pulled some buttons from my stash to make them look like the sun, the cloud and the flower from the paper.
Hope you all enjoy and have a great Thursday.  Wish me luck.
Hugs, Lisa G

Coffee Anyone?

 Hi guys.
I thought that I would put my post up tonight as I haven't been getting it done in the mornings. It must be due to our new (earlier) schedule.  lol..  The M&Ms are enjoying their classes so far, but Thursday Maddie was up at 4am with the flu and Mitchell soon followed at 5am with a fever and a very bad cough.  They were both very upset to miss school, but there was no way either one of them could have made it that day.  On Friday Maddie was able to go back, but Mitchell was only feeling worse.  As of today however he still have a cough and his soar throat isn't as bad and all the sneezing and fever have gotten better.  I am happy to say that they are both heading back to school in the am.  :O)
So lets get to why you are all here.  I was playing around with a couple of stamps that I bought when we went clothes shopping for the M&Ms in August.  This one was on sale for 50% off and I thought it was a very interesting idea for a stamp set.  It comes with directions that show you how to  make a card that you can put a gift card in.  Unfortunately I didn't have any gift cards handy, so I put my B&N member card in to show you.  Because I am actually sending this card to someone I made a little envelope to fit in the slot and then put a little special something in that.  Anyway you can see the idea.  I wasn't thinking however and signed the inside before I took my pictures, so I don't have the inside to share with you.
I have to tell you that when I picked out the papers that I wanted to use to paper piece the coffee cup and sleeve I ended up using some gorgeous papers from a Halloween 6x6 stack that I also purchased on our trip.  I loved this paper pad, and now I am so glad that I purchased it as it turned out to be so versatile.  Even if it I hadn't used it for this I still would had bought it as for some odd reason I seem to be obsessed with getting Halloween stuff  this year.  I am just in the mood lately and Halloween really has never been my thing before now.  I don't know why I want it all this year. lmbo... Weird!!!
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope that you all had a great weekend and a wonderful Monday.  Talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

The cup warmer part you check off what you want the order to say.

At this point you wouldn't have to make a card you could just attach it like a postcard, but I had more I wanted to say.

My homemade envelope.  The Thanks a-latte!  however is one of the stamps that comes in this set.  Love it!

Back to School...

Hi guys.
Ok,  this is going to be a very quick one as we are all still trying to get into our groove with the M&Ms' new schedules.  I have all the confidence that we'll get there.  :O)   I hope you all had a great weekend.  We had a really good one and I was all set to enjoy being off on Monday when my body decided it was a perfect time to get sick.  I ended up being in bed all day. (thankfully my loyal cat/dog Lucy stayed in bed with me. She doesn't like it when I get sick.  She just wont will not leave my side.)   I guess I am just happy that I had the day off and didn't have to call in sick.  lol... All better now and just hoping to get through what's left of this week so that I can try once again to spend the weekend being creative.  Wish my Luck.
So, today's card is one that I made for my friend to give to her granddaughter that is soon starting fourth grade.  I had a lot of fun playing with the new 6x6 paper pad from WeR Memory Keepers.  I hope you like it.   That's all I have for now.  I am heading off to bed as I am very tired. lol....
Hope you are all having a great week.  I will talk to you soon.
Hugs, Lisa G

Paw Paw-Razzi - SPECIAL ADDITION...

Hi guys.
Wow, are you all having a great weekend so far?  We have had a couple of visits from friends and family and that has made for a great weekend.  :O)
So because we have had some company come over we have a special addition of the Paw Paw-Razzi for you.  It is my pleasure to introduce you to a new member of my Mom and Dad's family.
Her name is Maggie and she is just as sweet to be around as she is adorable.  Maggie is only a couple of months old and she is a Labrador.  She has the biggest, softest mouth I have ever seen on such a little girl.  She is already very good about coming when called and doing her business outside.  She even played some fetch with me.  My parents brought her over to meet the M&Ms today, and we had a great afternoon visiting and playing with Maggie and one of the cats' balls that Maggie was allowed to take home with her.  A little girl needs to have a fun ball to chase around.  lol..
So because the weather is wonderful out with it not too hot and not too cold we spent some time out front playing with her and of course I had to take some pictures.  After all I am sure that Maggie is not going to be this small forever.  However I have to say that it turned into quite the challenge as Maggie want to play with me and the camera which made it somewhat difficult at times to take pictures of her.  I did get a few really good one of her so I wanted to share them with you.  I know we had a great day what with both my Mom, Dad and Sister being at our house as well a little Maggie.
I hope you all have a great day and I will talk at you tomorrow.  Be sure to give your family a hug and let them know you love them.
Hugs, Lisa G

Introducing Maggie!  Look out world here she comes.

Look at that soft mouth. Great for goose hunting!  :O)

Of course Lucy was inside the house checking out all of this nonsense. lol...
