IT'S A CINCH...

I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas. We had a wonderful one. We decided to stay home just the four of us because of both Mitchell and Madison still having horrible coughs and problems with their noses. Don't get me wrong, they are sooo much better. We just felt that because my Father had a heart attach in 2000 we did not want him to risk him or my Mom getting sick from whatever they might have had.
Santa was super good to us this year as he left a Wii for all of us and now we all have sore shoulders from playing too much bowling and golf. I have not laughed so hard as when Jerry and I decided to play Mitchell's new Mario world on the Wii...Omword, it's a good thing you can't see me play that game or you might really think I was insane. My Mom called when we were in the middle of it and I could not even talk to her as I was laughing so hard. lol....
Jerry and the kids bought me The Cinch for Christmas and I spent most of yesterday afternoon playing with it. I just had to make both Mitchell and Madison their own books and of course I made myself a little Copic book to list the colors I have and the ones that I still want. So, because I had so much fun playing Wii and The Cinch I have a few pictures of my new book to share this morning with you... I am hoping to get back to my card making tomorrow. Until then have a super day everyone.

I BELIEVE IN, SANTA CLAUS...

Good morning everyone. Can you believe only five days until the big day? My kids are already on Christmas Vacation and they are counting down until the big day. Madison is spending her time trying to convince me to let them open our Christmas Eve PJ's... "I had to tell her that Grandpa was at the store the night the we picked them out so he took them home with him." I am very proud to say that I have not given in yet. I just keep telling myself "Five days, five days, five days I can make." If you've been around my blog you know just how hard it is for me to keep from giving the presents that I have already bought. It is just soooo HARD! :O) Mitchell is just spending his time counting how many more days...
I have not made up my mind if I am going to post a card a day this week, so I apologize in advance. I do have a little something that I am for sure going to post on Saturday, so please be sure and check back... Ok, let me get to my card. I had some new K&Company paper that Jerry had given me that I really wanted to try out so I decided that Fleur Anya would be just perfect for this card. I tweaked her dress just a little and game her some patten leather shoes to go with it. The way I see it she is dressed for midnight mass in her finest Christmas dress and pretty little Christmas flowers in her hair. Afterwards she is going right to bed so that she can get up and see what Santa has left for her. You see she has been a very good girl this year and all she really wants is Copic markers. :O) I am sorry for the glare on my card. I took the pictures late last night and I don't have time this morning to retake them. ggrrhhh!!
Have a great Monday everyone. I am off to work.

THE MAGIC OF THE SEASON...

Hi guys. Who is ready for Christmas? Well not me, but I am starting to get there... present by present! I have actually gotten two (yes, count them!) two of my Christmas cards mailed. lol... I know how sad is that? I just have to have some free time to get to the post office. I tried today during my lunch but OMG, there was a line out the door and I just don't have that long of a lunch. I am hoping to get time after work tomorrow to go try again.
Jerry is going to attempt to help the kids put up the tree while I am at work tomorrow. I guess we will see how that goes. Usually it is me and the kids putting things out while Jerry is at work or taking a nap or something. He really just loves to see it once it is finished. This year I think I want to be the one to see the end result...lol I guess I am just a little more tired that I thought. I love Christmas, but at times it seems to just add a little more stress than is really necessary. It all works out in the end and I can NOT wait to have next Friday off with my family and just enjoy the time together for three whole days without anyone being sick.
Ok well I have gone on long enough. I had better get going. My card today is another one that I used up some very old scrapbooking supplies to make. I just love how it turned out.
As always thanks for stopping by. You all are just wonderful and I really love hearing from you. It just makes my day. I hope you all have a great weekend. Talk at you later.

WISHING YOU...

Hi guys. I am happy to say that Wednesday is over! I had a good day at work, but by the end of the day I ended up with a migraine. Ugghhh! I just hate coming home with a headache....I am very pleased to tell you that it has finally gone away this morning. I also have to admit that I did not realize just how much I had finally gotten used to working over 40 hours a week. Man am I worn out after being off for a week and in just two days I have worked 17 hours and I am already tired. lol....complain, complain complain. :O) I am sure that I will get back in the groove soon. I just have to get there.
Ok, I am going to make it quick today. My card today is made with Cheeky Cherry Pie. She is just adorable! I am sure that I am going to bore you with her., but I just can't help myself. hehee I also used up some more of my scrapbooking products that I have had for a long time now and of course that always makes me smile... Let me apologize however, as somehow I lost my supply list that I make with every card so that I can list everything. I just can't find it, so I am going to go off of memory.
I do have a quick question for everyone. Do you own or have you used either the Bind-it-all or the Cinch? If so which one do you prefer? I really want one, but I am not sure which one yet...I am leaning towards the Cinch as it really does look super easy. I want to be able to make a new Copic color and sketch book along with mini albums for gifts and I think it would be perfect for that. My BFF has the Bind-it-all and to me it just looks like something I could mess up. lol...
Have a wonderful day all. Nine more days until Christmas! What's in your stocking? lmbo!!
Talk at you tomorrow.

SIMPLY WONDERFUL...

Hi guys.
I hope that you are all having a great week. I can not believe that today is already Wednesday. Have you gotten your Christmas shopping started yet or are you one of those super cool people that is all done and just waiting for the big day? Me, I am a person that has to wait until the very last minute to purchase my presents for everyone or they will end up getting them long before Christmas ever gets here. Of course you know that means that I just have to purchase more gifts. Sooo in order to not spend money that we shouldn't I either wait till the last minute or Jerry hides them in the garage so that I can not get to them. lol...Good man!
Ok, lets get to my card for today. I kind of wanted to get a rest from all the Christmas cards, so today's card it just a really quick one I made with my Sweet & toxic set. I just think that she is adorable, but I didn't want her to have skulls in her hair so she has little jingle bells instead. I really had a great time coloring her. Notice the yellow hair not red....lol I also wanted the background to look more like marble instead of using my airbrush on this one. ( I really need to use it more though) I do have to apologize though because my title and the dp are from a set and I just can not remember what set or company they are from. Sorry! :O)
Well it is Wednesday and I have to work a 10 hour day today, so I had better get going. I hope that you all have a wonderful day. I haven't even looked outside yet, so I really don't have a clue as to what it is doing outside. Anyway, have a good day and I will talk at you tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the very sweet comments.

CHRISTMAS JOY...

Hi guys.
I am going to make this a quick post today as I am back to work and I have two kids that are still somewhat sick and we are trying to decide if they are indeed going to school.
We had fog all day yesterday and we are suppose to get hit with a new snow storm tomorrow, so it should be interesting this week. lol...
Ok, I said quick and I am not kidding. So raise your hands if you remember the very cute cardstock frames called "This & That" by My Mind's Eye that came out with in 2002? They had little embellishments on the sheet with the frame that were buttons and then a little something extra. Well the reason I bring this up is because that is what today's card was made out of. I remember that I just had to purchase all of these cute frames and I don't think that I have actually used more than four in all these years. So, in the spirit of using what I have I decided to go for it. I also pulled out some old rub-ons to enhance the greeting on my card as well. The tree on the inside is a rub-on and I did color it with my Copics, but I wanted it to look more like a child's hand drawing.
Well guys, I have to get it together and get going. Oh, by the way....NO we did not get to the tree yesterday. Mitchell woke up with a horrendous cough and a fever, so we just spent a really lazy day on the couch watching movies. I am hoping that they both wake up in better shape.
Have a super great day. Talk at you tomorrow.

SEASON'S GREETINGS...

Good morning all.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Our days have sort of run together for us all over here in quarantine land. lol...Well as you all know by now we have today off again and then we are all released to go back to school and work. The kids both have terrible coughs and Madison's tonsils look like ping pong balls, but she is getting better. Mitchell and Madison are both in the mood to put up our Christmas tree, and you'd think that with being off work all last week that I would have found the time or the energy to get it done. NOT! I think once they both get up and get showered that we will go a head and get it done. It really isn't that big of a deal for me anymore. They like to put the tree together and then they love hanging all of the ornaments up after I put on the lights. We all love to listen to Christmas songs while we do this, so it really is fun. I just hate having to clean before you get started and then you need to clean when you are all done. I guess I will get the pre-cleaning done before they wake up so that things will go much quicker. With all of us cut off from our normal routine this last week it has really messed up my internal clock, so I was just a little surprised last night when I looked at the calender and noticed that Christmas is just two weeks away. I better get started soon or it will have come and gone before I even blink. I am proud to say that I have all of my Christmas cards just about done, so they are all going in the mail on Tuesday. Yay! I do love making them, but I am ready to move on to something other than that.
I don't know if I have ever mentioned that Polar bears are kind of a family thing for us. We all just love them and when I ran across this awesome stamp over at the All That Scraps blog I just had to have it. Once I purchased this cutie I knew right away that I had to make a Christmas card with it. Of course Mitchell wants it as does Jerry and Madison, so I don't think that it will be mailed to anyone. I have to admit that I love how it turned out and I think I'll keep it for a prototype for next years Christmas cards. The silver and blue snowflakes are from the second dollar store card that I purchased for .50 cents last week. I am just tickled to have been able to get so much out of those cards. I really wish that I had taken a picture of the cards before I cut them up and used the embellishments the way I wanted to. You would never have believed it.
Well now that I have babbled on I should get going. I may not be going to work today, but I sure do have a lot to get done before I head back tomorrow. Have a super day everyone.

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY...

Hi guys.
I am just taking a quick minute to share with you a RAK from Sharon that I received in the mail. I was not feeling very good yesterday and I was going to go take a little nap when Jerry brought me in this package. Needless to say I forgot about how yucking I was feeling. lol...
I met Sharon on YouTube a few months ago and we have been talking back and forth. Well, I would never have expected such a sweet surprise as this. She sent me two of her homemade flowers. (Love them!) I am sorry, but they are soooo much prettier in person than in the picture I took of them. She also sent me some Martha Stewart embossing powder along with an embossing pad. I have never ever embossed, so I guess after Christmas I am going to have to buy me a heat gun... I can not wait to try this! Sharon was also nice enough to send me some of the awesome flowers that everyone has been buying off the Internet. I am sorry that I don't recall what the company's name is, but you can check out Sharon's videos and info here.
Well, it is Sunday so I am going to get ready for the day and see about getting the kids up and medicine into both of them. Have a great rest of your weekend. Talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

SPARKLY & BRIGHT...

Hi guys.
I hope that your Saturday is off to a great start. No one is up yet at Casa' Gobea this morning, so I thought that I would chat with you all real quick before Mitchell gets up and wants to visit with me. :O)
My poor Son is taking the five days of medicine that the health district has us on, but it sure is hard for him. He can't swallow pills and it takes him over 30 minutes to drink the very small amount of liquid that he needs to get down. I can't blame him, I have tasted liquid zithromax and OMG....I would rather just chuck it down than sip... lol Not Mitchell, he has his own speed to which he does everything.
Have you ever wondered what Christmas looks like under the sea? How do they get the Christmas lights to look nice and sparkly without letting all the ships up above know what is going on? Heehee.... No, I don't have a fever. I was playing around with this adorable Kraftin' Kimmie Mermaid and I really wanted to color her up, but I really wanted it to be a Christmas card. Well, as you can see I decided that even little Mermaids celebrate Christmas.
If you have visited my blog before, you know that I don't usually make pastel cards. However this card just screamed to be different. Aurora has such a beautiful tail that I just had to put her on a fluffy, snowy/ winter card. :O)
It seems that I am rambling, so I will get done with it. I hope you like Aurora as much as I do. Have a great day everyone. I will talk at you tomorrow.

THANK YOU CARDS...

Hi guys.
Happy Friday to everyone. This is where I would talk about working today and then having this weekend off, but as you all know that is not the case this weekend. So, yesterday we finally found out that Madison does indeed have Whooping cough and we are all restricted to our house until Tuesday. Thanks to my wonderful Dad we were all able to get started on our own course of antibiotics. I spent the better part of my day yesterday on the phone and Wow... between the health district - Dr.s' offices and the school district I think I have talked myself out. heehee...
I am running behind this morning even though I don't have work, so I will get right to it. I wanted to take a little break on my Christmas cards, so I started working on a couple thank you cards. I wanted to play with my Cheeky Cherry Pie stamp and I thought that she would be just perfect for it. Yes, she is a redhead even though I was staying away from that combo for a while. What can I say she is just a sweet redhead. heehee
Again, thank you everyone for your concern over my family this week. Madison is getting better with the exception of a soar throat. I am looking forward to next week when Madison is feeling better and we are all able to get back to our regular schedules. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS...

Hi guys.
I hope that your week is going well for you all. I am home again today as we still do not have the test results in for Madison. I am hoping to hear from them soon. She still has a very strange cough and her throat is not getting any better. Well, at least she is getting plenty of rest. Madison will be the first to tell you that she is very happy to have me home. I am happy to be here for her as well, but I do feel super, super bad for my co-workers. Ugghhh. I need two of me. lol...
Ok, let me get to my card before Mitchell decides to get up and visit with me. I love that he is my early riser, but it is very hard to talk at you guys while my Son is talking to me. So I will get to it as I said. My card today is soooo out of my comfort zone it is not funny. I swear it took me over two hours just to make this card and that is not including the time it took to color Miss Ivy three different times. (I had a little bit of difficulty with her hair...) Anyway, as I was saying I don't usually use this many different patterned papers on one card, but I wanted to make this one for the last challenge over on the TPS challenge blog. Tickled Pink Stamps is starting up a new challenge blog. They are going to start their first challenge on January 7th, so be sure to check it out. If you head over there now they are giving out prizes and introducing their design team... I think it is going to be soooo much fun. I can not wait.
Sorry, I got off topic there. They are always so creative over at TPS's current challenge blog and I felt that as I won this awesome stamp that I should try and stretch my creativity a little bit. The challenge on the TPS blog is for Sketch #8. I thought that it was a great sketch and I just had to go for it. All of the papers that I used on this one are from my stash from over two years ago, so it made me feel so good to put them to use. You can not tell from the picture, but the embellishment one the top left corner is green and gold. When I purchased them ($1.50 for 5 pieces) Jerry just couldn't see what I would ever use them on. I have to say that I really am happy with how this one turned out. Her hair still is not my favorite, but I really do love how the rest of my card came together.
Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate all of your kind words for my Madison. She says that she is getting tired of always being the one to get sick... She really is not a person that you would think of as sickly, but she sure has had a lot of fun in the past 12 months....I am sure that she will be just fine. The Dr. checked her lungs and heart the other night so I am confident that it will turn out ok. Thanks again.
Talk at you tomorrow.

LUCY HARD AT WORK...

Hi guys.
We are heading to bed and I thought that I would share this picture of Lucy. Earlier today Jerry was busy cleaning the kitchen and sweeping, so while Madison was taking a nap I decided to work on some Christmas cards. Lucy of course wanted to be with her Mom (she knows that I am not usually home at this time in our week) so as always she hopped up on my desk and spread out over all of my stuff. She will either lay there or she likes to sleep on the back of my computer chair. Mind you the back is about 4 & 1/2 feet off the ground and I doubt that it is more than 3 inches wide. I can not figure out how that could be comfy in anyway at all. Still no test results from the Dr., so I am off work again tomorrow. I will have a post in the morning. Talk at you then.
Hugs, Lisa G

CHRISTMAS JOY...

Good morning guys.
Wow, it is already Wednesday and I am kind of sad to say that I have only worked about 3 hours this week and don't know when I will be heading back... Because Madison is sick and the health district will not allow me to be at work until Madison gets her test results (could be tomorrow or Friday) I can not be at work. I am happy to be home with my sick little girl, but I feel really bad for the people I work with. It has been crazy busy lately and I hate to think of someone pulling my weight just because I can't be there.
On a much more happy note...Did you see Glee last night? I always have to chuckle to myself as I think Jerry is the biggest Gleek in our house. He was watching and says "You know this one should have been a two hour one." He was also in tears when Artie was walking and Coach Beiste was the one to give him the walking devise. I love my tough and grumpy husband. He has a heart of gold and God help the person that hurts his family in anyway. :O) I have to say that I just loved the show too. I have always been a sucker for Christmas music and I think they did such a wonderful job of the whole show. I really loved it when Sue ended up at Mr. Shue's house. Great, great ending.... Of course now we have to wait for a new episode. :O(
Now, if I may I want to bore you a little with today's card. lol I just had to purchase one of Amy Young's new little snowflake fairies. This is Neva and I just think she is so terribly sweet that you can not pass her up. I purchased her in digi (could not wait for the mailman this time.) from All that Scraps. At first I was a little intimidated to color her as everyone else has done such a fantastic job with these stamps that I didn't think I could come up with something just as good and I didn't want to make her look like anyone else's. Well, I remembered that at our dollar store they had their Christmas cards with popped out embellishments on sale 2 for $1 so and I had purchased a couple because of that and the long envelopes that you got with them. I wanted to try making tall/long cards. So....I used my undo and took off the embellishments to use on my card along with a metallic silver diamond to showcase Neva. I am soooo totally happy with how my card came out both inside and out. I don't think my pictures show just how cute all these colors and everything looks together. Sorry.
I am sure you noticed that the last couple of posts I did I used different colored cardstock to photograph my cards with. I don't know that I am all that crazy about how it looks, so I went back to just using my homemade light box with the plain white cardstock. What do you think looks better? Colored or white? I would really like to get you input on this. Thanks in advance.
As you can see I am not getting ready for work, but I do have to head over to the kids' school later to get all of their homework. Ugghhhh! Then it's back home to take temperatures and give medicine. So if you have lasted this long, let me wish you a happy Wednesday.
Talk at you tomorrow.
