HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYONE...

Hi guys, I just wanted to take a minute to wish you all a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend. Ours is going to be a lot of fun. We are having a BBQ at our house today, so I am going to be a little busy with my family. I can't wait! Jerry has already mopped the hardwood floors and cleaned the bathroom, I guess I better get going so we can go grocery shopping...
Yesterday I had an eye appointment and two different meetings to go to, so I didn't get much done for my blog post. I figured since we remember all the people that have fought and all the ones that are still fighting for our freedom that something patriotic would be perfect. Of course Anya came to mind right away. Yes, this is a card I made last year. However I just love her! Have a great weekend all. Hugs, Lisa G

HAPPY THOUGHTS...

Good morning guys. I am sorry to say, but this is going to be a super quick one today. It is my day off (Yipee!) and I have a ton of things I need to get done so that I can play this weekend. So, with that said let me get right to it. My card today was made with a digi stamp from Spesch stamps that I won in their awesome blog hop. Her name is Kei and this stamp is called Kei with net. I wanted to play off of the butterflies and all so I used my Scor-pal to make a frame although I don't think you can see it in the picture. I then used my new Green at heart paper pad by BasicGrey that I won on Kadie's blog... The green pp with flowers looked like a meadow and then the purple butterfly paper that also came in the pad is to make it look like all the wonderful butterflies that came to play with Kei.
Ok, I am out of here. Sorry, I don't even have a picture of my Copics or supplies. I will talk at you tomorrow, but in the mean time have an awesome Friday! Hugs, Lisa

FUN TIMES...

Hi guys. How are you all doing this morning? Did you get your Glee on last night? Can you say "Ow la ow la la?" heehee. I have to say we sure have fun watching that show. Not only is it fun to listen to the songs, but it also tells a great story. I swear when Kurt's Dad got mad at Finn I was so moved. I was so happy with Finn at the end when he realized what it all meant. Don't you just want to mash those two football players? Talk about bullies! Ok, ok for you non Gleeks I will get on with it. Let me start out by saying I am so happy that it is Wednesday... Just one more day and I am off for four whole days! Can you believe it? I am still pinching myself. lol... Ok, back to reality. Today's card is made with my second Kraftin Kimmie stamp. The wonderful Eleanor. She is just such a cutie. To me she looks like she has been up to something.. heehee I went a little funky with this one though I colored in part of the background with blue. I thought of using my airbrush, but that wasn't what I was going for. So without further ado here is Miss Eleanor playing out on the beach with her vintage suit and hat on. I just love it. I also decided that her outfit needed to be pieced together with pattern paper. I have to say I am happy with how that came together. As for the rest I am not too sure what I think of it. I better get going. Have a great hump day everyone. Talk at you tomorrow. Lisa G

LIFE IS GOOD...

Hi guys. I hope you are all doing well. Are you ready to get your Glee on? I can not wait for tonight. That show always puts me in a good mood. Who doesn't enjoy listening to great music? Even my DH loves that show. What can I say we're Gleeks. heehee.
Well as I need to get Mitchell to school by 7am this morning I had better get a move on. I do however have to tell you that I have discovered a new (to me) set of stamps. That would be the Kraftin' Kimmies...Yes, I know that they are not all new however to me they are. I just love their faces. I was lucky enough to get a couple of them for my Birthday. (Thank you Jerry.) So, I just had to make a card with my newest addition Florence..She is just too cute. She reminds me of a 1950's girl sitting on the beach at sunset. Just when you still have to wear your sunglasses, but you can see that within minutes it is going to be very dark out. I sure hope you like it. I used some daisyd's rub-ons with this. The letters have white dots running over them. To me it looks like the letters are messed up, but they aren't. Sorry. Well, it is getting to be that time. I better hit it. Have a great day and I will talk at you tomorrow. Lisa G

HAPPY BIRTHDAY...

Good morning everyone. Yes, it is once again Monday morning. Wow the weekends sure do go fast! Thanks so much to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday. I had a ton of Birthday wishes over on face book, and I don't even know how to do that very well. lol....
Anywho today's card is not for me, but for my sister. Her Birthday is June 4th and she has red hair. As kids when she was being mean I would inform her that her hair was not red or strawberry blond, but ORANGE! Man did that make her mad...heehee...I guess in the long run both my sister and my little brother got me back at me for that one... Chris (my Sister) gave me a sweet redheaded nephew almost 22 years ago and Rick (my baby Brother) married an awesome redhead and gave me my youngest redheaded nephew 8 years ago... What can I say I am surrounded! lol...We all make a funny group as both my siblings and their families tend to be on the fairer side and then you have my family with all the dark skin and black hair and black eyes. I love the variety that my Mom and Dad ended up with. After all it is the spice of life.
Wow did I go off topic or what. I must be stalling for Monday morning at work. lol...Ok, I will get with it. I just had to make Chris this little Anya. She is just sooo cute. Chris has three Sons, so she is surrounded by all things male. I try to add a little girly into her life whenever possible. I know she is going to love the bright colors. Bright green is one of her favorite colors. So hopefully she doesn't decide to check out my blog today. If so Happy Birthday Chris! Love you.... I also used the Saturday Sketch over at CA&F for this card. It just worked out so well for it. Have a great Monday everyone. I am out of here. Hugs, Lisa G

3RD POST IN ONE DAY...

No you are not seeing things. This is my 3rd post today. I just wanted to share with you what my hubby helped me do for my Birthday. I wanted to change my desk around so that I could have more room to work and to be on the computer when I needed to be. Here are some pictures of how it turned out. My computer screen is farther away than it was, but I am sure that I will get used to it. However I really love how it all turned out. Ok, I am off to play some more. Have a great afternoon. Hugs, Lisa G

SIMPLE SUNDAY...

Hi guys, this is my 2nd post in less than 24 hours so be sure to check out hugs & kisses below this.
How is everyone today? It is my Birthday, so I am hanging out with Jerry and the kids and just enjoying the day off. I made my Simple Sunday card in less than 20 minutes this morning and I have spent the last 45 minutes trying to get my printer and computer to talk to each other. Somehow my printer was taken offline from my computer. Yay! I finally fixed it! I am very proud of myself. Usually I would have had a fit and called my Mom in tears. Now however I am getting better are taking it as it comes and just working through the problems. Have I mentioned that at work and home I literally repeal technology? I do!! I swear! lol...
Ok, now for my 20 minute card. I have to tell you that the very sweet Mary Frances sent me this stamp and I think she just looks to happy sitting on her flower. It only took me a couple of minutes to color her and then I decided to use one of my very old mad blox from ki Memories. My paper is from a new Cosmo Cricket pad that I got for my Birthday. I just love the happy colors. They really work well with the ki Memories blox. heehee... Well, I am off to play Yahtzee with the kids. Have a great Sunday. Hugs, Lisa G

HUGS & KISSES...

Hi guys, I know it's been a couple of days since my last post. I really don't have any good reason other than just plain too tired... I have been working my two week stretch at work (including Saturdays) and I am so tired! That's ok though as I only work Monday thru Thursdays next week then I will be off until Tuesday due to the Holiday...Do I hear a big Woo, Woo! heehee. Can you tell it is late? Sorry! I am getting rummy...
Ok, I will get serious now. My card for today is another one that the gal from work had on her list for her Granddaughter. The little girl has a new puppy, and Grandma wanted to send her a cute card for her to enjoy. Of course Pretty Hat Anya let me know right away that she wanted to be picked for this one. I have to agree. Anya and her cute little puppy are perfect for just such a card. Well, as I have said it is late and I am very tired so I am going to hit the hay. I am hoping to get a Simple Sunday card done tomorrow, so be sure to check back in the afternoon to see if I actually was able to get it done. Have a great night and a wonderful Sunday. Hugs, Lisa G

SCHOOL IS OUT...for SUMMER!

Good morning all. I hope that you all had a great Wednesday. I came home from work on Tuesday and I was going to get my card done, but before I knew it Glee was on... What can I say, I just had to watch Glee and then I was just too tired to worry about my card. Did you all enjoy your hour of Glee? I have a love- hate feeling when it comes to the final number of each episode. I love, love the last song they preform but...I hate it because it means that short hour has already come and gone. lol...Oh, well there is always next week or hulu.
Ok, as for my card today. It is one for my friends granddaughter. She wanted her to have one for the last day of school. I was trying to come up with something in my stamps that would represent that and it just was not jumping off the pages. Well, I turned to the next best resource that I have, my kids. I asked both of them if they were to be given a card for the last day of school what would they want on it out of my stamp selection. Somehow they both agreed that Cheer Anya was perfect because they would both be cheering if today was the last day of school and the first day of their summer vacation. I really liked their ideas so I went with it. So without further ado Miss Cheer Anya is here to cheer you into the last day of school/first day of summer VACATION! Well, we aren't quit there yet but it sure is on the way very quickly. We a very big wind/thunderstorm/rainstorm last night so I can't wait to see what it will do today. Have a great day everyone. SUPER QUICK, RUNNING OUT OF TIME....

Hi guys, I am soooo running late today. I can't believe that I forgot to post my card this morning. Well this is a quicky. My card is actually one that I put together just as a note of fun. I am sorry, I don't seem to know what I did with my supply list this morning. :0( I guess I am being a space cadet...lol..It is poring rain here this morning, so I am getting my coat on and trying to walk between the drops. Just joking. Have a great and Gleefull Tuesday. Talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G

IT'S SUMMER TIME !

Oh my word it is Monday once again... What can I say, Yes, I do complain about it each and every week. Jerry gets the privilege of hearing it every Monday morning before we get the kids up for school. Of course it is even worse when they don't have to go to school and Jerry doesn't have to work. I try to be positive be when the kids are up because I want them to know how to be responsible. They are told their jobs are going to school just like ours are going to work. I hope this makes them good and dependable employees (or bosses) someday. heehee. Wow, did I go off topic! Sorry. I just hate Mondays especially when I worked Saturday. :O (
Now that I got that out of the way, I have another card that my friend at work requested for her Granddaughter. (I have a list that she made with about 12 cards.) This one is for the first day of SUMMER... Of course dressy Anya told me she could handle this one. She told me that if it was the first day of summer she would have her swimsuit and sunglasses on and ready to head to the pool. It sounded like a great idea so I helped her get dressed and polished her glasses (with glossy accents) for her. Now Anya is ready to head to the pool and enjoy a good book after a swim. lol...I hope you all have a FABULOUS Monday. I am headed off to work. At least it's payday. You know what that means? Yes, Roll Call baby! I can not wait. Well, I'm out of here. Hugs, Lisa G

YOU'RE SWEET! *SIMPLE SUNDAY*

Hi guys. Wow, I am actually getting a post in on a Sunday. Now, please don't be too shocked. I have decided to try something that is actually turning into something that I am enjoying very much. My friend Amy came up with this idea two weeks ago to make a card from start to finish in 20 minutes or less (including coloring). If you are a card maker you know that this can be a challenge at times. At least for me it is. Especially when I am going for that perfect look..lol.
After seeing her Simple Sunday cards...here and here, I decided that I just had to give this a shot. So, because Amy is one of my mentors (she is very talented) I just had to go for it... I am going to try to get my Simple Sundays in each week. I hope you enjoy this as much as I am. Please, if you don't know Amy already be sure to check her blog out. I promise you won't be sorry. This week's Simple Sunday card is made with Dazzles and some Copics. I don't know why, but when I see the Dazzles it is really fun to just play and make a simple, but cute card. Well, I hope you all have a great day. I am off to make some not so simple card. ;O) Hugs, Lisa G

LET'S GET SASSY...

Hi guys. Happy Saturday to you. I am heading to work soon, but I wanted to share a card that I made last night. I had a headache, but I still wanted to play with my Copics a little, so this is what happened... I was watching YouTube ( I love to check out every one's videos about Copics and stamps) when I decided to just listen and color up my newest stamp from the Farm," Thursday". I think she is one spunky girl, and I decided to try her on some craft paper. Now I have never used craft to stamp on. Just for making my cards. However, I had the headache, I was in a funky mood, and I was just playing around. I really had no intention of posting her, but I really like this in a kind of funky way. I think that I will send her to my Sister. She will get a charge out of it. She has three boys (15-18 & 21) so she knows how to get funky...heehee. I decided to use pink as the card itself to play off of the blue and her general tough girl attitude. I also used my distressing tool to rough up the edges a little.
Ok, I am off to the races. I hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend. Hugs, Lisa G

GREAT JOB!

Hi guys. Happy Friday to all of you. I have to work this weekend, but it is still nice to think that today is Friday...Yay! Thank you everyone for all the sweet comments on the "Because Mitchell said so" post. It really made his day. Sometimes I forget that even though he is my boy he still likes to do things that Mom is interested in. He was very happy that I asked him to help me out on this one, and he was even more tickled to read that people he doesn't even know thought that he had done such a good job. :0)
Well, as I have a very full day today I will get to it. I have been asked to make some cards for one of the ladies that I work with. She has a little Granddaughter that is just about to finish 1st grade and she likes to send her a card every week. Soooo she asked if she could see my stamps and give me a list of cards that she would like made. I really love making cards for a specific purpose, so I had no problem saying yes. Last night I began with her first card. She wanted something to give her that had to do with dancing. Yes, I do have Ballerina Anya but she doesn't do that kind of dancing so I just had to use Fleur Anya! She was just sitting there looking at me with her big eyes and those pretty flowers in her hair and I just could not say no to her. I have to tell you that I am so pleased with how this card turned out. When I took it to her yesterday she was so excited to see it and she really really liked it. I think this is going to be a lot of fun... Now all I have to do is get those wonderful new Sprouts and I will be a happy stamper/blogger. heehee!
Well everyone have a wonderful Friday. It is suppose to get in the 80s today! Talk at you tomorrow, Lisa G

BECAUSE MITCHELL SAID SO...

Hi guys. Can you believe another day has come and gone again? I can not believe that we are almost halfway through the month of May. I have to say that even though yesterday was a busy one for me it was also a very good day! Yes! Madison pasted all of her tests at the Dr's and they gave her a clean bill of health. She is recovering as they wanted her to, so she can return to PE with the promise to not overdo it. I have to say that she went all day yesterday without needing any pain medication at all. She even listened to me and took the elevator at school. Jerry and I are very happy to see her getting back to herself. We wanted to thank each and everyone of you that has taken her into your thoughts and hearts. You are truly just the sweetest people. They also told us that the pains in her legs and ankles are growing pains. I remember my sister having growning pains, but I never did....Go figure!

Ok, thanks for listening this far. My card today is of course made for the "Because I said so" challenge over at CA&F blog. Well, when Mitchell noticed that Madison got to pick out products and a stamp for me to make a card with he wanted to do it also. I figured why not. When he was in 1st and 2nd grade he did not have very good finger dexterity, so I came up with the idea that Mitchell, Madison and I would all have the same coloring books and we would color in their bed for awhile before they needed to go to sleep. He has always thought that was so special and he did not even know that it was helping him to hold his pencils correctly. So, because I spoil my sweet children to no end I felt that it was only fair to let my Mitchell have his shot at a card for me to make.
You will see really fast what theme he was going for. It really shows to me his personality. He wants to be a writer when he grows up and I think that he was trying to make a book with this...lol....
Ok guys, got to get a move on. Talk at you tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa G
