Simple but SWEET...

Hi guys,
I am so hoping to get back into the groove in the next couple of weeks. Gesh... The M&M's are officially High schoolers and we almost have all the jitters done with so that we can get into a well put together system that works for the four of us.  So far we have all been getting up by 5am to get our showers taken and because my poor kids are like me we have been out the door and up to the school by 7:10am each day this week. Mind you school doesn't start until 7:45am but,  like I said they are just like me.  lol... Needless to say we have all been in bed by 9pm everyday this week. :O)  Did you know that it is still dark out at 5am.  That is the one thing that I really hate about fall coming on.  Don't mind somewhat cooler temperatures, i love the sound of the geese and the way they start flying back into the late in the early even.  I just want my light.
Well, that's enough of my complaining. Let's get to the creative side of things. I didn't want to leave the same card up all week so I have a different card with the adorable Anya Celebrates on it.  Thanks again to my very very sweet friend Amy Young for the stamps.
Ok guys, have a wonderful weekend.  I am off Monday so I am hoping to get some crafting in.
Hugs, Lisa G

Where does the time go?

Hi guys,
I am so sorry that I haven't been around much.  I have been crafting and working and as of today getting my M&Ms registered into High School.
I have been making cards for Anniversaries and Birthdays that I don't want the people to see, so unfortunately they are being sent off without sharing them. Sorry.
As for the M&Ms, as of today they are both now registered to attend our High School.  Can we please just stop time and make them my adorable 2 and 3 year old?   Mind you I have loved my babies at all of their ages, but they are just getting so big and the time is just going by so fast!  As you all are probably tired of reading I am very proud of them and very happy for them as well.  :O)
Ok, as for my card today I have to thank my very sweet friend Amy Young for being so AWESOME!    I was not able to purchase these new stamps from The Greeting Farm before they sold out, (although as I was posting my link I see that they have decided to sell them again.)  and somehow Amy ended up getting two sets of them and was ever so SWEET to ask if I would like to purchase them from her. OMGoodness, I didn't have to think twice. I could not believe that I was going to get them after all as I had been so disappointed to have missed them.  Now I have them!  Thank you, thank you....
Well guys, I am very tired and I really wanted to pop in and thank you all for coming by to say hi.  I am sorry that I haven't been around to everyones'  blogs lately, but I am hoping to get caught up Saturday after work.  Until then have a great day and I'll talk at you later.

Hugs, Lisa G

Believe...

Hi guys,

I hope that you are all doing great.  It is a new week, and I wanted to start off with a huge  THANK YOU  to all of you that left such sweet comments on my SMASH/Copic book.  I really enjoyed getting back to those of you that emailed me as well.  :O)  You are all just too kind, and I love reading all of your wonderful comments.
So, as it is late and I just got home from grocery shopping I will make this a quick one.  My card for today came about as I spent this last weekend trying to use some of those 'I have to have this' products that I have in my stash.  One of those just happens to be the awesome 'Rose Creations' die from Donna Salazar.  I loved this die when I first purchased it, but I don't think I have cut anything with it until Saturday.  :O)  Shame on me!  Anyway, I had some beautiful pink tissue paper that I had received in RAK and so I folded it up and cut out several layers to make this flower. I also used some of the fairydust glitter that Donna likes to use.  I think it turned out more like a carnation than a rose, but all in all I really love how it looks.   I think this would make a great baby girl card or even a breast cancer awareness card.
Ok my blogging friends, I am hoping to get the rest of my cards up for you this week as well as a few more pages in my SMASH book, so I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

PS... Can you believe I didn't use a single Copic marker one this card? I know I shocked myself as well.  lmbo...

Hair we go with some more { SMASH }

Hi guys.
I was in bed reading my book when it dawned on me that I had not put up my post for today.  So up I am and here is yet another couple of pictures for you of my on going SMASH/Copic book.
I decided that having a color wheel reference in my book was a good idea.  I think that for most of us we have it down pretty good, but at times I just want a quick refresher at a glance.  So the first page after my Copic color charts is a very simple color wheel that I found on the Internet and copied off.   Right after that starts my pages of hair combos.  Because I am a bit of a perfectionist and have OCD,  I decided to use this as my eye color/skin color reference as well.  Can't have a good hair color without some beautiful skin and eyes to go with it.  I had decided that I wanted to color all the hair and skin combos on my preferred paper so I have colored each one and then I use my Spellbinders to cut out just the part that I want to reference.  It has made it a lot easier than fussy cutting them and I like the white background so that you see the hair really well.  As you can see however I do tend to use pretty much the same three Copics (E50-E51-E53) for my skin tone over and over, so I dropped that from the lists along the way.  lol... Anyway I have made sure to leave myself plenty of pages for future hair combos as you never know when you are going to come across something new that you just have to try.  heehee...
I am also trying to be a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl on my book so I did use my white pen to hand write on the black paper.  Just trying very hard not to worry how perfect it is as it should be just a notebook reference book and not an OMG, I have to have this perfect for future generations to see. lol... I know I am just loony that way.  What's a girl to do?
Ok, as I said I was already in bed so I am heading back there.  I hope you all have a great start to your week, and I will talk at you later.
Basic, but I like having it here. You can see I am using the SMASH page tabs to show were each section is.

I do have a separate section for boy hair as well, it's just further into the book so you'll have to wait to see it.

I am planning on adding more hair combos on this page, but for now I put sticky notes on it for new ideas until I get them
colored up.  I really love the library card look to this, so I won't be gunking it up too much.

I just love these two pages and would have loved to have it at the start of my [girl] hair colors, but it is almost
to the back of the book, so I just left it and I will not be putting anything on it as I think it is just so cute and funny!

Hugs, Lisa G

Inside my SMASH/Copic book...

Hello everyone.
Thanks so much for your nice comments on my SMASH book.  I have been having a lot of fun working on it and getting in some (always) needed practice time with my Copics.  I don't know about you guys, but for me I have almost as much fun organizing my Copic markers and all my other crafty goodies as I do playing with them.  :O)  (What can I say, I am a nerd and very much OCD!)  lol...
So, moving right along. Let me get right to it.  The very first section in my SMASH book is my Copic color chart,  because this is a book that is all about my markers I felt that it was best to make this right in the front for quick and easy reference.   At first I was also going to put a second chart that would allow me to mark what pens I had a 'Various' refill for, but I then decided that there was no need to take up extra pages that I could use for either card ideas and/or hair color combo/ skin and just about any other thing that I want to see at a glance.   Instead, as you can see in my very blurry picture I have just put a dot of ink next to the color number as an indication that I do indeed have that in a refill.
I also want to mention that I was able to print the AWESOME Copic color chart that I found on the Internet.   I only wish that I could remember who came up with this homemade version.  I love the way she has the colors on top and the actual color number underneath.  It really helps so that I can see the numbers as well as the color at a glance.
As you can see this takes up four pages total, but it does allow me easy access to my colors for coloring and to my refills and empty spaces for when I get money to purchase more.  We all know you can never have too many Copic markers or supplies to go along with them.  :O)
Well, it is getting late and I have a walk to go on early in the morning before it gets to be in the 90s so I had better say bye for now and get my bottom to bed.  Have a great Saturday everyone and I will talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Had to use a little of my Washi tape just for the fun of it.

I have since gotten in a couple new colors and now I only need two more of the fluorescent.  They are really pretty colors.

Can't see it too well, but the little dots by the color number
is to show me that I have a Various refill for that color.

Just Keep Coloring...

Hello there...
So sorry for being MIA.  I can't even blame it on the Internet company this time.  I have just been so busy since last Saturday that I have barely even sat down at my desk let alone colored or touched my computer.  It has been a good busy, but a busy busy none the less.
I had scheduled today as a vacation day so that we could take the M&Ms to the 'big city' that is just a little under an hour away.  We had a great time and we even got to have lunch at Wendy's.  The kids haven't been there since their youngest cousin was born and she is getting ready for 2nd grade this year, so you might say that really didn't remember it and they sure did enjoy it this time.  :O)
We were able to find some awesome clothes and great prices at Old Navy.  It is in the mall, and even in the middle of the week I was totally shocked as to how busy every place was.  I have been in our smallish town since 1990 and you really do get used to being in your own little environment.
So, let me get to my project share with you.  I have finally caved and picked up a SMASH book.  I had originally bought the bigger one, then decided that I wanted the mini SMASH so that I could used it for my Copic reference book.  It is a great size and I was even able to throw it in my purse and have my Copic lists right at hand.  I ended up covering the book with kraft CS do to the fact that I was going to heat emboss some stamps on the front and back and as you all know I am SO SO bad at heat embossing that I messed it up.   :O(  So going with the flow I covered the Kraft book with the kraft papers then I took a second sheet of my kraft paper and printed off the adorable SC digi of this girl in the water with the shark.   I then used my computer fonts and made my title of the book to look like no matter how hard it may seem or how bad you think it looks you really just need to 'Keep on Coloring'.  Yes, I borrow from both the movies (Finding Nemo) and (Jaws) but I really like how this turned out.
So, I will keep you posted on all of my pages as I get through them.  I really just wanted to share with you my idea book and the way I put together the covers.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Talk at you later.
Hugs, Lisa G

Love me, love my cat....

Hi guys.
Sorry for the missed day there.  I have had a hectic week so far and I am glad that tomorrow is Thursday.  Only one more day and then it's the weekend once again.  lol....
Ok, I'm not going to dwell on my week thus far as we all have weeks that we just need to get through.  I just wanted to share a couple of really cute stamps that I have had for a while.  This first one is the sentiment stamp (Love me, love my cat...) well, when I picked it up at Crafter's warehouse when we went for our yearly shopping trip I just knew I had to have it due to all these cats we seem to think we can't live without.  lol...  So when I picked up this super cute 'free' stamp from Saturated Canary right before I found myself without Internet I just knew that they were a match made in heaven.
When I first started to color her I was in the process of trying out some new hair color combos.  That is the day that I came up with this combo and fell in love with it.  It is my take on the golden blond look and it has now gone into my mini SMASH book for a reference.  lol...Anyway, it took me days to color the rest of her as I just did not want to mess up her hair and her precious face.  (I know get over it, but you all know I am an imperfect human with a I want it perfect human's brain!)  Did that make any sense?  lmbo
Moving on.... I finally decided to use the 'pb&j' 6x6 paper pad by BasicGrey that I had laying on my desk and just went for it.  I hope you like her.  I wanted her to look all cutie pie and bring out the white as well.  Tell me what you think.  I am still striving to be perfect and some days it just isn't there.  lol...
Have a great day everyone.  I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

Oh, by the way... Let me know what you think of the picture sizes?  I like to be able to see everything, so I put my pictures big.  However it does make for a long post, so let me know what you think about it.  Thanks!
