Let it snow....

Happy Thanksgiving!
I waited until today to drop in this card as it makes me think of the Macy's Day Parade were Santa always comes at the end of it to start off the holidays.
So, here is my Santa that I used nothing but Spellbinder dies to make him with.  :O)  I found a really cute card a few weeks ago that was made out of punches and then a similar card that was made from different cuts from the Cricut.  I really liked both cards, and even though I have a Cricut I decided that I wanted to try and make him out of my Spellbinders.
I had sooooooo much fun with this card and everything is made 100% out of my Spellbinder dies. I even was able to make the decorative strip and the inside of my card's background out of a set of Edgeabilities  from Donna Salazar that I have.  heehee... I have to tell you that if you are like me and have a bunch of Spellbinders' dies (or other dies) that you just had to have and don't use them as often as you thought you would, well then you really need to give this a try.  It makes me know that all that money was worth it.  lol..  Now all I have to buy is the postage stamp dies from Spellbinders that I can use a lot easier to make mattes behind my stamped images with.  lmbo.....
I really wanted to make a turkey card out of my dies for today, but as my week has been super duper busy at work that just didn't happen.  :O(  Oh well, there is always next year.  Right?
Ok everyone, I am off to go play a little girls versus boys Wii bowling while the turkey is roasting away.  Hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family.
Hugs Lisa G

Merry Christmas...

Hi guys.
Sorry for taking yesterday off from my blog, but we had grocery shopping to do and well, you add the Thanksgiving meal to the regular shopping and what can I say.  We didn't even get home until 8:45pm last night.  Thankfully the M&Ms are wonderful about helping us to put it all away.
While I am on the subject of  Thanksgiving dinner,  I have a little fun information to share. While we were on our way to school last Thursday Madison was able to win a 15lb Butterball Turkey off of the radio.  :O)  It was her first time at trying to win anything  and she was the 9th caller, so she not only won the Butterball Turkey, she also won a 1/2lb box of chocolates from a local candy shop here in our little town.  The awesome chocolates are all gone, but boy did we have fun trying them all and loving them as we did.  I am only bringing this all up as Madison is very proud of herself for winning and she is even telling us that Thanksgiving is on her this year.  lol...  Um sure!  :O)
Ok, let's get onto today's card.  This might look a little familiar to you all as this is actually the same style of my Halloween card that I made.  I really enjoyed making that card and when I found this paper from last year's papers that my friend Amy Y sent to me,  well I just could not resist making this into a Christmas card and playing around with some more heat embossing.  I can not believe that I am slowly, but surely getting addicted to it.
I know that in my pictures that the Scarlett Jewel from PTI doesn't look like it matches the stripes from MME, but I assure you that in person they look terrific together.  :O)  I really love how the white bow and the white dots just bring out those stripes and make it look kind of like a candy cane.
So, before I head off to bed I am really hoping that you will head over to my 'Kids Create Two' blog to see a couple of  drawings  that Madison made up tonight.  She was having some fun just playing around with her pencils and it would be so fantastic if you would check it out and leave her some nice feedback.  It would really mean the world to her if you could.    I know you will as you are all so awesome.   Thanks so much.
So, as I have talked your eyes off tonight I will wish you all a wonderful evening and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs Lisa G

The Wonder of Christmas...

Hi guys,
So sorry for taking such a long break.  I was so planning on getting a few cards made this weekend and spending some  relaxing time blogging as well, but I ate something that had under cooked eggs in it and as I am very allergic to eggs you can imagine that it really put my down for the last two days.  It isn't your normal kind of reaction where you can't breath, but it makes me so sick and then it feels as if my stomach is eating my back bone.  I tell you I was in so much pain and I could not get warm enough to save my life.  My youngest warmed up two heating pads, put them on my back and then stayed in bed with me right up against my back until I finally was able to get a little rest.  I know, "TMI" as Madison would say,  but it does really hurt and for some reason my  right side was hurting as well this time.  Jerry wanted to take me to the E.R. as he was concerned that my appendix was involved.  Luckily, it finally calmed down and I was able to talk him out of it.  I will confess that I was a little scared this time, but for the M&Ms'  sake I didn't want to make a big deal of  the whole thing.   I am ok now and thankfully  I was feeling better today and was able to get a little bit of crafting in before I head back to a very full week of work.
Ok, enough about me... let's get to the fun part of this here blog.  :O)  One of the things on my 'WISH' list is to someday get one of the dies by Stephanie Barnard that make a flip it card.  I am really hoping to get one of those dies someday, but as I put myself on a spending freeze (that I am sure is going to last the winter., lol)  I decided that I won't let it get me down, I will just make a card that is almost as fun and kind of works. :O)
I pulled out the '2011 Heirloom Ornaments' dies from Spellbinders and some really pretty papers from MME that my sweet friend Amy Y sent to me last year.  Thanks Amy! :O)   As I was putting my card together I noticed that all my reds and greens were getting a little much and I decided to grab the last of my doilies from my stash (Does anyone know where you can get them anymore?  These are the 4 inch ones and Walmart doesn't seem to stalk then anymore?!)  and put them with the ornaments it to kind of break it up a little and bring out the white from the papers.
I will confess that even though I really want  a flip it die I think my card came out pretty good and I do like it very much.  Please forgive all of the pictures as it is a hard get the idea across in them.
Ok guys,  I am going to get my desk cleared up for the week and hopefully be back with another card to share with you tomorrow.  Until then I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G

I took this close up so that you can get an idea of just how sparkly this gem is.  It is thinker than the usual ones
that I put on my cards, but I just love all the sparkle on it. Thanks so much for sending it to me Steph, you are a

Cold Paws,

Warm Hearts.
Well hello there.  I have to say it seems like forever since I have been able to sit down at my desk and blog let alone make a card or two.  lol... Oh well, I guess that is just how it goes some times. :O\
I wanted to just pop in real quick and share a fun little card I made this past weekend when I was just playing around with some of the Dazzles that I picked up last month.   Our family has always loved anything to do with polar bears, so when I came across these little guys I just had to make a card with them.  As you can see I kept this really simple and only used 3 or 4 Copic markers.  I added a little bit of my 'very old'  liquid applique to make it look like they are playing in the snow.  Even though my snow looks a little cream colored I really like how this turned out.
We are suppose to only get up to about 27 degrees tomorrow, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share my little winter card.  I hope you are all staying warm and having a great week.
I seem to have misplaced my supply list for my Copics and papers.  :O(
Ok, that's all I got for today.  I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G

Cozy Winter Wishes...

Hello everyone.
I sure hope that you are all having a much better week then we are.   Nothing bad going on really,  I have just been so swamped this whole week that I haven't even really sat down at my desk for more than five minutes everyday this whole week.  lol... I miss my DESK!  :O)
Due to the fact that my crafting time has been exceedingly limited this week I wanted to get in a card to enter into The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge using Washi Tape.  Well., as I have quite a bit of Washi tape I thought it would be such a fun challenge to make a card for.  lol...  Can you believe (as luck would have it) that  I don't have much in the way of a winter Washi?  However I really wanted to play in this week's challenge so I decided to make some faux Washi for this one.  As you can kind of see I used pieces of my paper pad and cut them into strips then tore them at the end to make them have the feel of Washi.   Even it isn't quite the same I still love how it turned out.
I had such a great time coloring Holiday Anya  up and doing a little paper piecing while I was at it.  She is all dressed up with her furry hand muff that has a little bit of sparkle to it  just for the season.  While I was at it I even heat embossed the little greeting on the front of my card as well.  Yes, I have become a little obsessed with the whole process as of late.
Well guys it is once again that magical time of day when both the M&Ms as well as Jerry are telling me that I must go to be and get a little shuteye before tomorrow gets here, so I will wish you all a good night at I am hoping that I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs Lisa G

Giving Thanks...

Hi everyone.
I hope that you are all having a great weekend.  I had to work today, but once I got home I  was finally able to take a few minutes for myself to make a card or two.  I wanted to make up a few Thanksgiving Day cards as most of the time I tend to go from Halloween to Christmas.  :O) So I pulled out a few things and came up with a couple of cards that I really like.
This card came about from watching Christina Thomas' YouTube channel.  She is making some videos  for her Christmas Card Series and she came up with one that I just loved and decided that I wanted to make it into a Thanksgiving Day card instead.  Please watch Christina's cards here.  I think you all will agree that she is a very talented crafter.
Even though my card looks nice and simple I did have a great time pulling out four of my stamp sets and using them all together to make this one card.  I just love it when you can do that.  It always makes me feel like I am being wise in my stamp choices and all the money that I spend on them. lol... Yep, that's what I do!   :O)
Ok guys I am heading off to bed as I am totally knackered.  lol... Thanks for stopping by.  I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G

WINNERS!!!

Hi guys,

It is finally that time.  Yep, I have finally gotten all the names written down, along with a tick for every additional comment that I received from the start of my Halloween Candy Give-a-way up to and including today.  I used Random.org to get my winners as there is NO WAY that I could have picked any one person.  I wish I could be like Opra and say Your a Winner, and your a winner, but I am not, so here we go.
So sorry it took me this long.  I guess I should have been writing it down as I went. You can be that my next Candy is going to be more organized.  :O) Oh well, I think they call that live and learn.  lol....
Ok I won't keep you waiting any longer.

The winner of the Halloween Candy is   Denice.
The winner of my smaller Halloween Surprise Candy  is Sammy.

Congratulations Ladies!!!
Please email me at l_gobea@yahoo.com with your mailing information and I will get those goodies into the mail Tuesday afternoon.
Thank you to everyone that has joined my blog and to everyone that has been a part of my blog for a very long time.  You all mean the world and I love to come home and read all of your comments.  You just know they make my day.  Talk at you later.

Christmas Greetings

Hi guys, Just a quick post for you today.  I am truly sorry I haven't been around
much so far this week.  I just have been too too busy with both work and family.  I am hoping that come Saturday at 1:05pm I will have a little time to use for what I want and need to get done.   In the meantime I wanted to share this very simple card that I made last night after work.

This is made from some of the Dazzle from HOTP called North Pole Village.  I just love using these every once in awhile when I want a cute card and I don't have much time to spend on it.  They are so easy.  All you need to do is put them on some cardstock and then you can color them up anyway you want with any type of medium that you would like.
I used my Copics for this one along with some Glossy accents and a touch of Wink of Stella to add some glitter to the snow and shine to all those windows.
I can't take full credit for how this card is designed as they have an example on all their products and so I went along with it. I didn't have the blue paper that I wanted to use, so I pulled out some PTI and stamped it with VersaMark so that I could use my Hero Arts embossing powder to add my snowflakes.
Have a great day everyone and thanks so much for hanging in there with me.  Thank you as well for leaving my Daughter so many nice comments on  her picture.  I means so much to us both. Talk at you later.
Hugs,  Lisa G

Neko Girl....

  Hi guys.

I wanted to share this picture that my youngest M&M drew last week while waiting to get out of school for the day.  Don't ask?   I have no idea what she should have been working on.  She just informed me that it was a free period and that all her work was done.  She gets great grades, so I will take her at her word.  lol
Madison says that this is a Neko Girl (Cat Girl) according to Madison.  I just think of Josie and the Pussy Cats.  :O)  She isn't too happy with me on that one, but hey it's my blog...
Anyway, as my Dad came over for a moment to bring me the new magnetic platform for the Big Shot ( I don't even have the machine, I just want it very badly, lol) that my Mom picked up for me I didn't get my card finished for today's post....  So, to the rescue it's Madison's picture.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.  Unfortunately she is 15 and as many teens do she folded it and put in her pocket.  Hence the crease lines.  lol...
Ok, off to bed for me.  Talk at you all later.
Hugs Lisa G

Seasons Greetings

Hi guys.
I can not believe that we are already looking at Monday once again.  :O)   I am the last one up tonight, so I am just letting my nails dry and decided to get my card up to share with all of you.
However before I get to my I do have to tell you that I did indeed get my desk cleaned up and all of my stamps and paper pads put into their proper storage places.  I am very very happy with how it looks.  I just didn't want to bore you with yet another picture of it all.  lol...  So, onto my card...
This card is one that I actually put together just before I started my Halloween series.  It is one of those cards that all I did was pull out some Washi Tape, add a few rub-ons , grab a Spellbinder die along with a couple gems for a more festive feel and TaDa, Christmas card it a flash !  Truly this card could be made in bulk with very little effort and still look like you spend a bit of time on it.  I think it came out quite pretty.  I hope you all like it as much as I do.  :O)
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you all have wonderful start to your week and I will talk at you later.
Hugs  Lisa G

I added a white rub-on over the sentiment and it looks really good in person, but for some reason
it looks really odd in this picture.  I promise it looks nice in real life.  Sometimes I hate my camera, or it could
just be the operator of it.  lol...

Missed paper pads ...

Hi guys,
Just dropping by real quick.  I am finally feeling better.  Thank you everyone for all your well wishes.  I was able to get up and drink a cup of coffee while sitting on the couch with Madison and having some  great Mother/Daughter time.  The boys were still sleeping.  :O)  I so love  having such a great start to my day and not having to worry about time or anything else.
Thankfully, because I am feeling more like myself again I got it into my head that I really needed to go through my 6x6 paper pads and pull out some Thanksgiving, Christmas and just some all around seasonal paper pads so that I can get going on some much needed cards.
OMGoodness, what an ordeal.  First off I discovered that my previous way of keeping my pads was so NOT working.  I say this as while I was in the process of pulling out  my holiday paper pads I found not one, not two, but five Halloween pads that I had forgotten I owned and could have used this last month.  (I am so peeved with myself.  lol)  I just could not believe it !!! It was so ridiculous it is laughable.  You can believe that Jerry was having a good time with it.
So with my new found knowledge I decided that I needed to pull out all of the paper pads and put them in a much more efficient way of storage.  That brought me to the idea that it would work better to store them in sections of Holidays, Seasons, Birthday, Back to school and Boy/Girl.... You get the idea.  My old way was by paper company and I truly liked how it looked as my OCD just thought that made more sense, but clearly I missed a few of the Holiday pads by doing this and I don't like for my money to go to waist, so I think this new idea will work out better.    I still need to re-label my containers, but that can wait a little longer as I wanted to share my storage with you and I also need to go grab a bite and rest just a little as this seems to have taken a bit out of  me.  lol... I think I might sit and watch another episode of Army Wives on 'Netflix' as I am so into that show at the moment. It is Really really good and I can't even tell you how many times I have been in tears.  My sweet Mitchell will ask me each and every time if I am ok.  I always have to reassure him that I am ok!  It just is a great show.  Love that boy of mine.
Ok, off to eat and rest just a little. Have a great Sunday everyone.  I promise that I will be getting my Halloween Candy winner up soon.  Still in the process of writing down all the names and then going back to see how many extra entries you get for all your comments.  Thanks again everyone for being a part of my blog and for playing along all month with me. It truly makes me so happy to have met so many new people and to still have all my old friends that you know I love you all.
Talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G

The forgotten Halloween paper pads!!!  Ggggrrrrrr....

Just the start of my mess.

Lucy,  always happy to help her Mom out with the sorting...
 G
Getting there...  Ran out of my storage bags so Madison & Jerry ran to Walmart for me.
I have the BEST DH (next to my Dad) EVER!  Thanks Honey.

She was hoping I wouldn't fill up that shelf again.

TaDa!!!  Now all I have to do is type up the labels and I should be good to go, but
as I still need to clean the top of my desk it will have to wait until later.

Welcome to the Graveyard!

Hi guys,  happy November to you all.
This is going to be my last Halloween post for 2013 !  I had a great time making all of those cards and I am thinking I just might have to make it a yearly event of mine.
I am busy collecting every ones names and then my youngest is going to help me cut them out and draw the winner(s).  As I am still not feeling tip top yet I am hoping to have that up for you guys by Monday,  but in the meantime because so many of you let me know that you would like to see the pictures of Jerry's graveyard I thought I would get the pictures up for you to see.
We had a ton of trick or treaters and the M&Ms had their two BBFs come over and help give out candy and then they even went out for just little bit of Trick or Treating as well.  I love all of my teenagers. They are a great group of kids and I just love the fact that they hang out at our house.  :0)  Who doesn't love having 4 great teens around to call them Mom and give hugs when they are needed? lol... I love that they hang out here as well, then we know what they are doing and whom they are doing it with.
Sorry, the sappy Mother in me just comes out and she is relentless when she does.  Anywho, even though I wasn't us to snuff I got to watch the kids get themselves made up and then both Madison and Jerry were sweet enough to get some pictures for me.  I hope you enjoy it. This graveyard is 100% homemade by my Hubby and the M&Ms. It costs next to nothing, but some cheap paint from Walmart and time on Jerry's part to set it all up. He won't admit it,  but he loves to do it.  We don't make it scary as I hate that kind of thing and there are a ton of little ones  that come by, so we don't want to scare them.  Its fun to listen to the parents chuckle over the names on the tomb stones while their kids get candy.  lol  It is so nice to hear them tell Jerry what a great yard he put together. My DH one of those guys that mostly stays to himself when it comes to anyone other than his family, so Halloween night is his time to shine and I just love it. :O). Plus I think it will make great memories for our kids about their Dad as well.  If you've lasted this long I just want to say "Thank you all"  I get to share my crafty side all the time, but now you know my DH has one as well.
Wow, have I yabbered on.  Hope you all have a great Saturday and I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G
