First Day of School...

Hi there.

I am very very happy to have a moment to drop in this card and share it with you.  I made this for the first day of school and over here in our little town today was 'THAT" day.   Even though my two M&Ms are in 11th grade this year I still wanted to make a card of encouragement for my oldest M&M as he tends to get a little nervous just before the big day.  :O)
I actually made this card up a couple of weeks ago and then I ended up working a lot of overtime so posting it just didn't happen until now.   I am however over on Instagram , so at least I am able to get a bit of my daily crafting fix in. (Needless to say, I am ADDICTED to it!)  I haven't figured out how to put a link to my Instagram on my blog yet,  but if you want to come over and say "Hi" I am of course under Gobeagirl over there.
So,  enough of all that let's get onto the card.  As you can see I used one of my FAVES on this one.  He is one of the Creeper Crew from the Twisted set and his name is Thomas.   I just love him and I thought that he was perfect for a back to school look what with his little bag over his shoulder and that  really cool looking outfit that he picked out just for the day. lol....  I was really getting into the back to school idea, but I didn't want it to come out as if it was for a little kid, so I pulled some of the patterned paper out of this set from doodlebug and inked it up to make it look more like an old ruler versus the more bright (primary) colors that I would tend to use for someone younger.   I even used a staple from my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to add the sentiment.  In mind nothing says school quite like a bunch of staples.  lol....
Alright guys,  I am so happy to still have some of you patiently waiting for me to put something up once in a while.  It truly means so very much to me.  I hope that you will continue to follow me and check in as I have some exciting news coming up to share with you all on Sept. 4th, so stay tuned.
I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G

Happy Birthday Mom...

 Hi guys,

I am just going to pop in real quite and share a card and envelope set that I made for my Mom's Birthday.  As you might have guessed today is her birthday and I wanted to make her a very special card that had a whole bunch of candles on it.  So, I pulled out my Stamp of the Month set from The Stamps of Life and came up with this long and narrow card just for her.
I have been really enjoying using stamps from all kinds of set that I own and using them to put together a sentiment or even a whole card.  Believe it or not, this card used five different stamp sets just to make it look exactly like I want.  It was so fun and I just loved digging through my stamps to come up with just the perfect thing it made me feel like I was really getting my money out of all this.
Due to the fact that it is a birthday card for my Mom I really wanted this card to a have a ton of candles kind of as a joke/birthday cake card for you.  :O)   Even though you can't really see it in the pictures I also used a whole bunch of Wink of Stella on this just to give it that sparkle that all birthday card should have.
So, Happy Birthday Mom.  Sorry I wasn't able to talk to you today, but I sure hope you had a wonderful day.  Love You...
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk at you all tomorrow.
Hugs Lisa G

Inside with just Wink of Stella on the flames,

I will add the product list in the AM.  I have a hairline fracture of my ankle, so I am off to take some medicine and then go to bed as it has been a long day on with this boot!

Heat of Summer Copic Coloring Contest...

Hi guys,
I am so happy to be able to share my card with you today.  We have been in a HEAT WAVE for quite a time now, so my evenings at home have been spent eating dinners consisting of PB&J with Jerry and the M&Ms (didn't want to add heat by using the oven) and sitting with all our lights off so that our air conditioner doesn't have to work overtime just to keep our house cool.  We have had the same air conditioner for over 7 years now, and I really don't want to have to replace it this year. We aren't using our TV either as that too adds more heat than you would think.  Thankfully we all have either a Nook or a Kindle to use, so it really isn't as bad as it sounds.  Needless to say, you don't get much crafting done without the lights on.  At least I don't.
So, I decided that no matter what I was going to get some card making/coloring in today!  :O)  I was up by 5:15 AM and really wanted to do something crafty.  :O)    I was looking around on Instagram (my newest addiction) and I found that Copicmarker.com is having a contest all August long. They are providing digi stamps to play with as well.  One of the stamps at the moment is this fantastic stamp by Chihiro Howe call 'Hawaiian Girl' and you just know I love to color faces and eyes. I was HOOKED right there!
My first thought (because of the flower in her hair, I had not read what her name was.) was that she had to have a tan.  Then because of the flower in her hair she just looked like she was on vacation.  Well, I don't know about you, but if I was on vacation in Hawaii you can bet I would be sending my friends and family a ton of post cards.  Yep, I would be loving all that wonderful sunshine, palm trees and that wonderful tropical feel to the whole vacation.
So as you can see I pulled out my LF set including the die of 'Say Cheese' and came up my 'missing you' card.  I am very happy with how she turned out.  Be sure to head over to Copicmarker.com and join in all the fun they have planned for August.  I know that I am going to be making a couple different cards with her as you can enter more than once and she was so much fun for me to color.
Hope you are all having a wonderful beginning to you August.  Talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G
