Hi there,
I thought I would drop in a quick post before we start our second day of Spring Break. :O)
I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. We have been hitting the low 70's over here with tons of sunshine and hardly any wind. Why yesterday didn't even have that much wind at all and for this part of Washington that is an amazing thing all in and of it's self. lol....
Ok, let's get to my card for today. I wanted to make something just a little different. I was over on the Simon Says Stamp blog when I came across their post from yesterday that was to make a card, a scrapbook page or just about anything that shows a journey to you. Well, for me this card is somewhat of a journey. You see, when I first started my blog and making my cards in general I was just using my Copics for the fun of it and stamping a little bit of picture kind of stamps. Lately I have decided that I wanted to branch out a little bit and try different techniques while I was at it. So, I figured this would be the perfect time to try something different and also enter to win a $50 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamps as well. Wish me luck as I would soooo love to buy some Bazzill cardstock and that would truly go a long way to getting it. :O)
So, on this card not only did I just use chipboard letters as my focal point, but I also used a background stamp (that I was actually going to just give-away as I had never used it) to make my cardstock have a sort of texture to it much like the chipboard letter do. I have to tell you that even though it is a simple card I love it. I love how it turned out just as I had imagined it would. I really wanted to use the abbreviation for 'thanks' like we all do when we text someone.
As you can see I used the 'Thx' letters to stand for my Thanks on my card. Of course my 15 year old Daughter says that I am wrong, but I really don't care in this case as I think it works. lol.... Sorry don't have an abbreviation dictionary. lol... I may not be a teenager and know everything, but I still think this card turned out great. You can also see that I am still using those enamel dots, but I really love them and I love how they can help add to your multiple colors on your card without really over shadowing everything else.
Ok guys, I have been up since 2 am as I just couldn't sleep, so I am going to go try for at least a couple hours of rest before we leave for the day. Hope you all have a great day and I will talk at you later.
Hugs Lisa G
