Sending you....

Heartfelt THANKS....
Hi guys.  I hope you are all having a great week so far.   I am going to just jump into my card as it has been taking so long for me to just download the pictures I don't have much time before I need to head to bed.  lol.. What a complainer?
Anywaaaaay...... my card today is one I made just for the fun of it.  It was so hot all last week that when I saw this stamp over on the Saturated Canary blog I just had to have her.  I love how there is a little drop of sweat coming down her forehead, and of course the fan with the hearts was just the perfect touch.  :O)   I really love this stamp and her sweet little face!  You can just feel how hot she is poor thing..
As you can see I have been trying out new hair color combos for my SMASH book.  I still don't know how much I like this one.  To me it makes her look like she is turning grey.  Mind you it's suppose to be dish water blond.  Oh well, I had a lot of fun coloring her and sometimes that's all that matters.  Keep on practicing right?    However in the meantime I am very happy with the fun bright colors of my card.  I am going to use this one in this month's challenge over on the Oozak blog.  The challenge is to use bright fun colors and I really think she brings it.  lol...
Ok guys,  I am heading to bed as tomorrow is another work day and I am tired!!!
Have a great day.
Hugs, Lisa G
Sorry about how bright this is.  I tried to 'fix' these pictures, and they came out a little over bright.  Ggggrrr!!!

I really over did the saturation on these with the
computer.... So so sorry.

Some kind of...

A very happy Monday morning to you all...
Did you have a great weekend?  I didn't have to work, but boy oh boy the last two days just flew by.  We started off Saturday morning at 5am to go for a walk as the sun was just coming up and the weather felt really nice. It wasn't even close to getting too hot yet.  YAY!  We all put on our walking clothes grabbed our Ipods only to open the front door to big fat rain drops.  I am not kidding, it had only been about 10 minutes since we had been outside to see how good it felt and then it was raining!  At that point we decided it was only water and might be fun to just walk anyway.  It just felt so good outside and so fresh with the rain.  Well, as fate would have it just as I was putting everyones' Ipods in the house I caught sight of the first bolt of lighting from the exact direction we were going to walk.. Needless to say we did not go walking this weekend,  Saturday or Sunday.  We decided to sleep in until 7am on Sunday and not worry about the heat or the rain.  I was really bummed, but I think secretly the M&Ms were pretty happy with the rain for the first time in their lives.
I did however get a few cards made and pretty much just had a fun weekend with Jerry and the M&Ms.   I even ended up taking a two hour nap with Madison as if felt so good without the heat from outside.  I usually hate naps, but sometime you just have to go with it.
I am trying to get caught up with everyone's blogs as I have been so bad about commenting lately.  So I am so sorry everyone.  I will strive to be better.  lol

I was going for an artsy feel, so I left the smudge in and did the lines by hand and didn't want them to look straight.  It was
fun to do, but a bit unnerving for me.  lol

Same goes with my bird. Artsy...  :O)

So let me get to my card for today.  I took Madison to get her hair cut last week and we stopped in at our Big Lots.  I don't know if I have complained about the lack of crafting deals at our store, but let's just say that it is so not what I thought it was going to be like. I was under the impression from everyone's YouTube videos that Big Lots always had such great scrapbooking/stamps and card making goodies.  So as I was saying, we went there to just pick up some paper towels on our way home (easier than Walmart when I don't feel like shopping) and I checked in the craft aisle as I have since this last November when they first opened.  Much to my extreme SURPRISE they had a few stamps there from Hampton Art and they were priced at $1 to $1.50 depending on the size.  I was so shocked, so I bought about $8 worth of them.   Today's card I made with this cute little bird that also had a second stamp with it for $1.50.   I happened to have paid $3.00 on sale at Michaels this last March for a set much like this one, so I was pretty happy with my purchases.   I guess I was so excited that it put me in a weird mood.
You can see that I went with a much more relaxed look to this card and I hand drew in the lines around the card to made it look more like the bird was drawn.  I really just had fun and didn't worry about everything being lined up or drawn straight.  In fact I left the mattes off kilter on purpose.  lol
Ok guys, my computer still won't let me load my pictures and I am once again on my laptop so I am worn out due to the stress I put upon myself to get my computer to work before I just give in and use my laptop.  Hey, I'm Italian/Polish Catholic- I am stubborn and won't give in without a fight but I due tend to feel bad about it later.  lmao...
Have an awesome Monday and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

Talk NERDY to ME...

Good Monday morning everyone.
Did you have a nice HOT weekend where you are?  We got up to 103 degrees yesterday!  It was super hot but we really didn't feel it too bad until I let the M&Ms talk my into going swimming.  We stayed out in our pool for over two hours.  It was a lot of fun, but once we came back in we all just could not seem to keep cool.  Needless to say our air conditioner has been on full time since Friday morning.  Even Jerry has been a tad warm and he is always walking around in sweats. lol....
Ok guys, I am going to make this a quick one today as I have been trying since 8:30pm to get my pictures loaded of my card. So you might say  I am a little warn out at the moment.  Too much sun and not enough cooperation on my computer's part.  Thank goodness I have a laptop as well or I wouldn't be able to do a thing.  Ggggrrrr!
Anyway, I was flipping through some old magazines that I have and I came across a very cute card that was made up of red, yellow and black. It also used kraft as the base to the card. I just thought it was so cute.  Wouldn't you know I don't have one single piece of kraft in my stash at the moment.  I could not believe it!!!  Thankfully I did have this really cute paper from MME that was on kraft and had black patterns on it.  As you can see I made do,.. Anyway,  I really wanted to give the color combo a go so this is my take on it.  I am very happy with how it came out and I am hoping to get some more kraft card stock to put back into my stash.  Oh well, a girl can dream right?
Ok, I said quick, do I am out of here.  Off to bed I go.  Have a great Monday everyone and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

True Love...

Hi guys.
This is going to be one of my shortest post ever as I had already typed everything out and added my pictures for you all to see and read about when my laptop decided it didn't like me and jumped screens only to delete everything.  Gggrrrr,....
Oh well no use of crying over deleted ink.  lol...  I wanted to share this card for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is because my Dad lost his beautiful Lab, 'Jake'  from some type of cancer within a very short time of them finding out about it.  I loved Jake as much as I love my Lucy.  The difference is that she is my cat and he was a big beautiful lab dog that was so sweet and so loving that everyone in my whole family just loved Jake.
So, when I read about Amy Tangerine having this adorable Washi tape digital paper that looks like a ton of Washi I just had to check it out.  All I needed after that was my Cuttle bug in order to make a circle mat for the middle and a little bit of love to go into my coloring.  I also had so much fun finally opening up my newest OA sets from The Greeting Farms.  They are all such adorable stamps and I used some of Oliver's  clothing to gave to Amelia to wear out and about.  lol
I think this card turned out to look pretty fun and cute and all in all I am please with it as it kind of helps me to let go of the whole incident.  (Way too much drama to go into on this little old blog of mine...:O)  So I hope you all had a great 4th of July.  If you have to work tomorrow like I do I hope that your day flies by and we can all get onto a great weekend.
Until then, I will talk at you all tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

Happy 4th of July...

Good morning everyone.
So today I decided not to make a card, but instead I picked up this little wood heart from our Dollar store a couple of weeks ago and made it into an altered project for our front door.  lol
I always knew that I wanted to use a Greeting Farm stamp, but I really didn't know specifically what girl I wanted to go with.  (or what boy, lol)
I was thinking of using Anya, but then I came across my 'Cheeky Shooter'  and I knew right away that I wanted her. I also wanted to make it look like her pistol was shooting off fireworks in celebration of the day.  :O)
This cute little plaque came painted with the stars and stripes as well as the word AMERICA that already had the blue glitter on it.  I then used some of my old Scrapworks rub-ons to make the words happy July 4th.  They were in a mat blue and I really wanted them to show up better so I used some of my Tombo Multi adhesive  along with some glitter that I've had in my stash for couple of years now.  I think they came out ok.  Once the glue on the words was dry I grabbed some of my newest bling from Crafter's Warehouse and cut them apart so that I could make it look like her personal fireworks.
I hope this all makes sense to everyone as I am tired at the moment so I had better get those pictures loaded up for you and head to bed.  lol...Thank goodness tomorrow is a Holiday as I am not sure what we are doing yet, but at this point I feel like I need to sleep for a week.,  lol...
Have a wonderful July 4th and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

You're the best...

Hello there!
I know it is hard to believe, but I actually have another card to share with you today.  Mini 'yay' for me.  lol... I actually have a little story to go with this card.
On Friday we surprised the M&Ms and took them to see the Disney/Pixar movie 'Brave'.  We had such a great time and we all left wanting to turn right back around and watch it again.  I think all four of us didn't shut up for at least an hour afterwards.  lol... We are all very silly together.  I won't lie and say it bothers me as I know we have a great bond with these two awesome humans that God has given to us to share.  :O)
OK, I don't want to spoil it for any of you that want to see it and haven't gone yet, so I won't say anything.   I will say however that Merida (the main character) is very very spirited and she has the coolest red hair.  All I could think of while I enjoyed this movie was just how much I wanted to go home and color with my Copics.  lol.... If you see the movie you'll know why.  They do such a great job of making her hair just come to life.
So when we got home I checked my stash of stamps and didn't really find anyone that I felt came close to Merida so I headed over to Tiddly Inks and found the digi - Girls Best Friend.  As you can see her hair is super curly which made it easy to pick this cutie as my stamp.
I knew she wasn't going to come out looking just like Merida, but her curly hair helped me to get what I wanted/needed after such a fun movie.  When I started this card I really didn't have any kind of card in mind, but then I thought it would make a great card to give to a friend or as a thank you card.  I used some of the these gems that one of my co-workers was nice enough to  pick up for me when she went shopping last weekend.  I gave her a budget that I wanted to spend and she did a great job of getting my a ton of bling swirls within my price range.  :O)  Made me a very happy girl and gave me a great excuse to make a special binder just to add them to my stash.  lol... They are too long to put in the house of gems.  I have some pictures to share if your interested.  I have been in an oranizing mood lately and this fell right into that catagory.  hee hee
Ok guys, I'll stop babbling... If you love Pixar movies and you haven't seen this movie I say "SEE IT, SEE IT NOW!"  it's very cute and a very very good family movie.  So that's all for me today. I will talk at you more tomorrow. Until then, have a wonderful day...
Hugs, Lisa

Hugs...

Good morning everyone.
I hope that you have all had a great weekend.  We had some pretty good weather here, so we were able to get some walking done and get the pool vacuumed and put the solar blanket on it with the hopes that the heat will last for more than one day at a time.  lol... It's been one day on one day off with the weather lately, so if the wind is nice we should actually be able to get in our pool and have a little bit on fun there.
So sorry that I really haven't been around lately.  I wish I could say that I have just been so busy that I couldn't get to my computer, but that would be big FAT lie.  lol... I have actually made quite a few cards it's just that every time I go to load them onto my computer through my printer the whole thing decides it won't work.  So, needless to say I have been slightly irritated by the whole thing.  I finally gave in and pulled out my laptop.  It is much easier as all I have to do is put my memory card right into the slot.  My only hold back has been that I really like my editing software on my PC much better.  I have finally gotten used to the editing system on this computer, so problem solved.  lol....  We'll see how this works out.  I really hope well and I have enough cards to share with you this whole week and a few more to boot.  So keep your fingers crossed.  :O)
Ok, enough of my complaining... Let's get started with my first card for the week.  This is the 2nd free digi that I was lucky enough to receive from The Copic Marker Europe blog to help them celebrate their one year Birthday.  I am sure you can reconize who might have designed this adorable stamp.  If you guessed Krista Smith from Saturated Canary you would be correct.  I just love her stamps and I of course would not miss an opportunity to color one of her girls up.
I did take pictures of my card when I first finished it, but as this was one of the many cards that I wasn't able to load I ended up making a little bit of changes to it with the one and only Washi tape that I own, so I took a new set of pictures, but I did have to put some post it notes on the inside as I have already filled out the card for someone.   She was very fun to color and I wish I had a big bag of Copics just like she does.  Even though Jerry will tell you I have a whole lot more, but you all know that you can NEVER have enough Copics!  lmbo
Have a great day my fellow bloggers and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G
