HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY...

Hi guys.
First let me wish everyone a Happy Veteran's day. I feel that today is a very important holiday and I wish that they really thought the kids that is more than just a free day off of school. I want to thank all of the the wonderful men and women who dedicate their lives to keeping our country safe, and free to do as we wish. I want to thank both my Grandfathers, my Uncles, my cousins , my nephew and now my great niece who have all or are still serving our country. Most of all I want to thank my Dad. My Dad is retired now and I am thankful for that as well. He was still in the service in 1991 when Desert Store started and their were a couple of times when his unit was called up. Thankfully he never had to go... When Mt St. Helens blew up in May of 1980 he went to small towns in the state of Washington to help them dig out their homes and places so that they might start to get back to a normal life. All of my life I have been proud to call him my Dad and I have also worried about his safety. Most of all I am honored to be called the Daughter of such a giving and loving man. So, to all you veterans I want to wish all a Happy Veterans day and thank you for all that do each and every day.
Ok, now that I have rambled on I will get to my card. I wish that I had prepared a card that was more suiting for today, but this card was made for a dear friend of mine that I haven't gotten to see for quite sometime and I really do miss our times we spent laughing together. So, as I mentioned before I have gotten into coloring the Sassy Studio stamps because I love their faces and their hair. I also had a great time with these Pyruse papers from Basic Grey. I used part of the paper to make the bow. I wanted to try something a little different and I have to say that I am really happy with how it came together. As you can see I am still working on my hair techniques, but I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I was going for the ringlets to really come out. I also just love using my fluid chalk from ColorBox (chestnut roan), but I can't seem to find any around here. :O( Mine is not looking so good as I use it all the time. It is just a little cats eye one and it is starting to look shredded. hehee
Alright guys I hope you all have a wonderful day. I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

Tell your family 'Thanks' from me and Happy Veteran's Day too!
Your card is gorgeous and her hair is spectacular! The BG paper is perfect with her, your friend is going to love it!
Only 1/2 day left for you, enjoy your weekend! :)

Your card is gorgeous! In fact I've got the Sassy Studio site up in another browser window so I can see the stamps that you use (as I browse YOUR site...lol). I LOVE the fact that you colored in her back so it all looked like a dress. If I would have seen the stamp first, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. You are such an enabler. Thank you very much.
