you totally ROCK...

Good morning friends.
Can you believe that we are now halfway through this week once again.  Omword, it really messes me up when I miss a day and then before you know it the week has just flown bye.   So, as is the case lately I am going to make this one a somewhat short post as I still need to head out and enjoy my family for an hour on our walk.  Yesterday we ended up cutting it short as I really did not have it in me.   I am happy to say however that I am starting to feel myself again and I really don't want to loose any  ground with our walking.   I think that not only has it helped us all to be in better shape it also gives us each a sense of accomplishment each time we go just a little further down the road.
Remember that I said short, so let me get to the real purpose of my post today.  Well here goes. lol... When I was working Saturday we ended up selling a nice lady a new diabetic testing system.  Of course our Pharmacist always takes it out of the box and helps the customer to figure out how to operate the devise and understand what it is they are reading and all the info that goes along with test your blood sugars.  Most of the time the customer doesn't want the insert to the box,  so we end up trying to recycle as much as we can then throw the rest in the trash.  Well,  I just could not let that beautiful piece of silver foil that is stronger than a thin chip board but thinner go to waste.  I brought it home and knew that it had to go on a boys card ASAP.   lol....  Once I had my card all done  my sweet Madison so nicely pointed out to me that  I have used both of these stamps together before, but I think that they just go so well and it really fit into my plan as to want I wanted this card to say.  As you can see I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder (spots & dots) to make the foil come alive and tell the story.  I wanted to add some brads along with it, but didn't have any in my stash that would work, so I used my old school hand held paper punch to punch out some circles within the circles and I have to admit that I really love how it turned out.   I might add that I have to take it to work as they all just can not imagine how it could be used on a card.  lol....
Speaking of work, do you remember when I made the sign that had Geisha Anya on it and it was for some beautiful oriental canes that we had for sale?  Well, we have sold all the canes but four and when I was heading home the other day I looked over and noticed that someone had RIPPED Anya off of the sign and taken her.  It kind of made me sad.  If someone had wanted one like her I would have had no problem making on.  I just could not believe it.  Our pharmacy is privately owned and really not that big at all.  We have cameras everywhere with signs and yet people still have no problem taking what they feel they need.  It just amazes me!   My Grandma (who was 97) used to watch the news and read the paper everyday and then she would shake her head and say "Sometimes I feel like I have lived too long."  Well I have to admit that I finally understand what she meant.
Ok guys, I have whined enough.   Time to get off my soap box and hit the road.  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk at you tomorrow.
Hugs, Lisa G

Lisa i know where you are coming from - people totally amaze me sometimes with their lack of respect or the law and other people. AT the moment over here we have riots and looting across the country - i just dont understand it!

Great male card Lisa, and an excellent recycle element...love to find something like that.I'm starting to look like 'Steptoe' scrounging around for peoples bits and bobs.I scored a funny clip yesterday, like a modern paper clip, it's still floating in my handbag, but will fetch it out and make sure I use it.Love how you used the foil...

I love the embossed foil on your card, you are so right that it makes the perfect embellishment for a guy card! And it's perfectly ok to use the same stamps together again, with the rest of the card being different most people will never notice...except eagle eye Madison! :)
I'm sorry poor Geisha Anya got ripped off, I'm with you I just don't understand a lot of people, how can they possibly think that it is all right for them to take her and ruin the sign!? It's a sad world sometimes...

How cool that you were able to recyle the foil strip...you did a fab job CB'ing it and using it on this cool card.

In general, I think people are kind and sincere, but there's always one or two who think the rules don't apply to them and will do whatever they want to get what they feel they deserve...ruining it for everyone. Case in point...now no one gets to enjoy looking at the sweet and adorable Geisha Anya. BUMMER!

Hi Lisa!
What a rotten thing to do! I hope the person that took it knows that you put a lot of love into creating it and feels truly chastised. Grr!! I just dislike that you can't feel secure in ur own workplace.
This card totally rocks! I love ur coloring and the embossed panel is awesome! Way to recycle!
Take care and stay sweet. Hugs,

Well that is just recycling to the extreme but it immediately caught my eye, wonderful use of the foil! Will have to raid my patients to see if any of them got a new glucometer recently!

:( How sad that they took Anya's head off!! No consideration at all for someone else's property and hard work! Especially when it serves your customers like that!

I once had a table for Halloween at our hospital for passing out candies -- our theme was Alice in Wonderland, and I put out my cards for decor. Someone took a couple!!! Rude!

Anyway, I love upcycling and it's so clever of you to save that foil and emboss it here! It turned out amazing!
